Sorry about this. In a list of LDS/GLBT films I sent yesterday I listed "The Ryan White Story." There are two television movies about a young hemophiliac boy who contracts AIDS, and whose story brings sympathy to AIDS epidemic from heretofore unsympathetic quarters. Ryan White was a Methodist. The OTHER telepic was about an LDS Family: "Go Toward the Light" (1988) Directed by Mike Robe. Based on book by same title, which was written by Chris Oyler, with Susan Nanus and Beth Polson. Starring Linda Hamilton, Joshua Harris, Richard Thomas and Steven Eckholdt. True story of Ben Oyler, a Latter-day Saint hemophiliac boy who contracted AIDS through a contaminated blood supply. - -- AML-List, a mailing list for the discussion of Mormon literature ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 04 Apr 2002 12:46:39 -0600 From: "Rose Green" Subject: Re: [AML] Images of LDS in British Lit Anne Perry would be of course one example. While most of her works are not actually about LDS members of the church, there is that one (Paragon Walk? is it called?) where the victim died precisely because she was a member.
