Rasband" Subject: [AML] GIBSON, _The Passion_ I didn't think to compare "The Passion" to the upcoming Book of Mormon movie but I suppose such comparisons will be inevitable. From the impressive trailer available at Ain't-It-Cool, it looks like "The Passion" may raise the production standards for religious films to an all-time high. I have no idea what impact this will have on LDS filmmakers, except to goad them to make more serious films than "The Singles Ward." Incidentally, Gibson showed a rough cut of his movie to a powerful group on Washington figures at the MPAA, including the fine (and conservative) Catholic writers Michael Novak and Peggy Noonan. Here is one account: =20 Mel Gibson's Washington Power Play =20 By Lloyd Grove =20 Movie star Mel Gibson yesterday screened a two-hour rough cut of "The Passion" for a select group of Washington pundits, clergymen, cybergossip Matt Drudge and Hollywood lobbyist Jack Valenti, and at least one White House staffer. =20 To view the entire article, go to http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A26264-2003Jul22.html?refe rrer=3Demailarticle =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D R.W. My computer's been haywire among other things. Anyway, I was remodeling a bit of my website this week, and have decided to take down the active links to the AML-List Living Room. I've left the info uploaded on the server, but unless you KNOW where to find it, it appears to be gone. I haven't updated the thing in over 3 years, maybe 4, and I don't have the time to mess with it and fix that situation. It might still come up on Internet searches. I'm not sure where it's listed anymore. So, I have also renamed the folder, as it contains many of your personal introductions, and a few of you have written in asking to be removed from that kind of public search. I also plan to remove its listing on the LDS Webring. Therefore: you may now only find the AML-List Living Room at this URL: http://home.sprintmail.com/~adamszoo/livrm/ This URL will only be posted here, so save this message or make sure to bookmark the page, if it is at all important to you. I'm sorry I can't keep it up! It was a fun idea while it lasted. If anyone else wants to play with it, let me know and I'll figure out how to transfer the files and server site. Thanks!
