I talked to him on the phone for some time and he made it clear that he was not enjoying the position and that he would not reconsider his decision. The next day Mike Clark met Thane for lunch and again Thane made it clear that he was comfortable with his decision. He said that he would remain an active member in the club. Thane's announcement was a surprise for me and I am sure for all club members. I consider Thane a good friend personally and a good friend of the club as well as of motorcycling in Utah. While accepting his resignation was not easy, as a friend I understood his position. On Saturday, January 8th, the Board of Directors met to discuss the next steps. In accordance with the Bylaws of the club, "Vacancies in any office shall be filled by a regular member in good standing appointed by a consensus of the Board of Directors, and shall serve until the next regular election of officers." It was decided that I would move into the position serving as your President, creating an opening in the Vice President position. We appointed Crit Swanner as Vice President, a position that he willingly and happily accepted. Additionally we moved a change in the positions of Treasurer and Editor. Mike Clark was elected Editor and Gavin Wallace Treasurer. However, Mike has a very high level computer system and felt he had the time to manage the Stinger and the Web page, while Gavin indicated he may be time constrained. Gavin being a "Quicken" whiz, offered that he would like the Treasurer's position. And we voted to accept the change. So, barring any unforeseen issues from the members, your Board of Directors for 2000 are: Jeb Berg President Crit Swanner Vice President Gavin Wallace Treasurer Jeff Stokes Secretary Mike Clark Editor Sincerely, Jeb Berg **************************************************************** The Beehive Beemers Internet Mailing List http://www.beehive-beemers.org **************************************************************** ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 18 Jan 2000 02:10:39 -0700 From: Michael Clark Subject: BB: When was the National MOA rally in Durango?
