It kept me on my toes. Why does it seem when a really good show or movie is on the commercials take forever? I was even annoyed at the tooth paste commercial where the cute little kid goes "Mother of Pearl" when the teacher asks the kids what color her teeth were. Any ways, I love the line Xander gave Cordelia , about her dress makes her look like a hooker. I have to re watch the episode again to remember what he said. Cordelia got what she deserved>:P I hope in one of the future episodes they will hook up Xander and Willow. I know I'll be rooting them on. At the end when Angel and Buffy kissed,My heart was soaring. Vampire slayer and Vampire in love with each other, Yet they can never be together. Perhaps the writers can fix that in later episodes. Ridiculous GASPer posts?! - John how rude of you! We have every write to post our views as much as you do, and we have the right not to have our posts referred to as "ridiculous" as I'm sure you wouldn't like me putting your posts down either! You know that little button that says "Del", it stands for Delete, it makes posts you don't want to read magically go away, ooh! Nuff said! That said on to my thoughts on tonite's show! Another great ep! But "NKAB.." is still my fave. Annointed Kid - Much deeper voice for a kid his age then I would suspect, wonder if that came with being turned into a vamp. I'm not sure if acting around ppl with scary makeup is a good thing for that young actor, can you hear his therapy lessons years from now? The "3" - Bad memories of a X-Files ep about vampires came to mind when I heard what those warrior vamps were referred to! And what's with the Klingon outfits? Cockroaches - EWW!!! They must be desperate for a hang out to stay in a place that has bugs! Someone call the Health Department pronto! Xander and Cordelia- Loved it! I think my fave line of the show is - "You know. I don't know what everyone's is talking about - that outfit doesn't make you look like a hooker" To borrow from Elton John "The B**ch is Back" :D Angel and Buffy - Nothing like a romance that can't happen or won't to liven a show, though Mulder and Scully haven't kissed...yet! Well romance can live in fan fic :D I'm sorry I don't have much more to say on this subj. since Angel isn't someone I pay much attn to, but most of you know that already. Oh I found the screaming when Angel showed "his true demonic visage" out of character, or maybe it was just that it was a total and utter shock to her. Giles *sigh* - This must be the return of Giles' personal belongings from past eps, even the now infamous "butt-ugly" green-checkered shirt made it's 3rd guest appearance (and in the shirt's case "past personal items from hell")! Get this guy some new clothes! Not much new to add since it's all been claimed or already on the list. And I think that is the scarf from the picture (Katherine - consider yourself Keeper of all Scarves :D ). I think Giles and Buffy's mom might make a interesting, if not cute couple :D If not on the show at least in fan fic. Loved the scene where Giles' was *teaching* her the quarterstaff, I'm sure he wasn't expecting her to catch on so fast, since it obviously took him awhile. :D Never underestimate the power of the Slayer! And again he is beaten up, but at least this time he remained concious, nice to see them moving on, if only slightly from that trend. So watcher's have diaries? Sounds like a little bit like what the Watcher's on HL have, can anyone say - Methos Chronicles? I knew you could! Hair Pen Phone - (seen in "Teacher's Pet) Plants (seen in "Teacher's Pet" and "Never Kill a Boy...") Squint Sugar Bowl from the tea set (seen in "Never Kill a Boy...") Tape Recorder (seen in "Teacher's Pet") Time Life Books (seen in "Welcome to the Hell Mouth) Quarterstaff - New Buffy's Mom - Oh her mom needs to buy a clue, my mom would never buy her fake getting Angel out of the house bit. She (my mom) once kept my sister talking while she knew a friend was hiding in a freezing closet :D Coffins - I guess the myth about having to sleep in a coffin may not be true at least not on this show. Darla - I wish they hadn't killed her off so soon, she was great asset to the show as was Flutie, but this time I wasn't as shocked as I was when he died, esp. since Darla is a vamp, not a nice person! Nice trick to get invited in and oh god a tax reference on the day before taxes are due, how original, if I hear another one on a show I watch tonight I swear I'll scream! And I think there were way to many bullets in those guns of hers! As for the Master's mourning, Get Over It! Oh next week is a repeat of "The Witch", maybe I'll review it since I didn't get to the first time around. Well not as much as before, but I hope I made what thoughts I did have - interesting. Spoiler Space For The Canadian Fans; Hope This Is Enough.... Okay, totally free-associating: I want the soundtrack. The song, whatever was, that was behind Buffy's good-bye to Owen in "Never Kill..." was terrif, but the one that was used as background for Buffy & Angel's kiss was better, and I want it, plus, of course, I want the whole kicking-butt theme song on CD. I hope someone will tell me where to get this, sometime soon. Darla was horrible, evil, hateful, and I'm almost sorry to see her go. Almost. She *would* have made a good recurring villainess, but I was so completely nauseated by her, and so relieved when they staked her, that I'm glad I'm not going to see her again. Something about that particular suck-up sweetie-faced cutesie-voiced Catholic schoolgirl schtick just screams "KILL!" to me, and this is aside from her being a vampire.... Looks like I don't get to write off Angel as just a pretty face anymore, damnit. Excellent job by David Boreanaz and SMG, of course. I wasn't going to like him. I was going to stay detached; but the gypsy curse of getting your soul when it's the last thing that you want was so sad, and he did such a good job of conveying anger and self-disgust and fascination with Buffy, that I got sucked in. And he was looking very.... something, tonight, I dunno, maybe it was the lack of shirt. Is it warm in here? Have to admit I laughed when he described the gypsy lass he bit; "beautiful, like you... *dumb* as a post..." _Not_ what I expected. Xander's bits in this ep were priceless, seguing from jealous to gleeful to actually sympathetic to Buffy without missing a beat. Willow is a great girlfriend; all her very level-headed talk about vampires contrasting wonderfully with her gushing about Xander. Plus, she got to give the perfect distraction, the one she knew Buffy would pay attention to and need to know; that Darla was the one that bit Buffy's mom, not Angel. How many of us have friends who'd risk their lives to tell us our boyfriend wasn't scum? (well, as well as save *our* lives, of course.) I foresee Giles & Buffy's mom, who must have a name, I just can't remember it, possibly dating; though I don't know how long it would last. Giles was also doing a great job during this ep, telling Buffy what she did not want to hear but not sugar-coating it a bit, even as he knew it hurt her. But I'm with whoever said that the three of Buffy's cohorts should start carrying heavy ammo; they really *do* need to be better prepared. Loved the bits with the Master and the Anointed One. Creepy fun. Although I can't make sense of killing the Three. I mean, Buffy's decimating their population, so they kill the toughest guys they have?!? Well, maybe it makes sense if you're a vampire... Now, at least, we have it clear (sorta) about what being a vampire in the Buffyverse entails: no soul, no conscience, demon possessing your body. Which puts Angel in the unenviable position of maybe sharing his body with a demon? Or having a demonic body with his own soul intact? Ick. Fun response time: Perri yelped: >What *is* it with me and centuries-old repentant vampires?!? I dunno. Bone structure? Low, sincere voices? Penetrating gaze? You decide. I'm going to go re-watch the bit with the tattoo again, see if I can get a better look at it... Maria pointed out: >Clueless award goes to: Buffy's mom Oh, yeah. The cliffhanger/commercial effect was a bit predictable, but it still was a *snarl-at-WB* moment. Buffy: Terrific quotes! (W:"What was the Reconstruction?" B:"Well, the Reconstruction was what they did when the Construction was shoddy") Terrific Zit *high5 Hyphema*! Terrific Tears after Angel "dusted" Darla! Dammit, SMG needs to build some muscles! she looks too frail when she took on the Three in the alleyway, and it sorta showed in her fight scenes, not really doing damage to the vamps. I loved that pool table thing! mmm. love those earrings... If no-one claims em, I'm Keeping 'em Willow: The "up all night" quote with Giles was a keeper! As well as the giggling about Xander. And her GASPing in fright about revealing her true feelings to Xander (da yutz!) I'm not too sure about the JCPenny brown dresses, cute and nice and all, but give AH something with bite! Any WOWIE wanna Keep her blue slippers? Xander: Same old jealous type, but he got CC with a good line. Disco Fever! Adrian Zmed, Eat yer heart out... (too bad Darla didnt, traipsing around Budapest like that) Giles: Terrific weapons! Esp. the spiked club and the gnarly wooden staffs. but for some reason the parrying scene was kinda awkward. BTW, Gabriel would dust Buffy staff-2-staff. Giles was good conveying his confidence in his skill with the staff, before he kissed floormat. Darla: ooh yes! Evil -- cold. calculatin', and ruthless (dustin' the Three)... including the disblief that her Childe staked her! She will be missed. A strong recurring Female nemesis would be nice. Too bad there were no hand-2-hand scenes with da Buffster -- maybe she can't kick. She was kinda mechanical in her shooting... reminded me of the computer game Tomb Raider's Lara Croft. Master & Annointed One: His rage and sadness at Darla's demise was welcome from the overbearing "get-me-outta-this-cave" routine. I've *got* to find out where I've seen this guy before... maybe DS9 or TNG. Why does "Annointed" keep me thinking "Endowed"? *sorry to all the young'uns* "Annoint" defn. "to put on oil in a ceremony of consecration" hrm... I guess they needed a word other than "Chosen". I like that devious twist in the Anointed One's voice at the end, soothing the Master as the kid drew him out of despair and loss. Cordelia: Can anyone snag Birthdate info and other *juicy* stuff on her at the Chat tomorrow? Please email privately or post so that I can put it in the FAQ. /--------------------------------------------------------------------\ | Hendu | hendu@usa.net | http://www.personal.psu.edu/hxn106 | | WOWIE! >BAST!< WHAM! | Keeper of Buffy's Black Boots & Earrings! | | "A suspicious heart will see imaginary ghosts." -- Chinese Proverb | \---------Watch Buffy The Vampire Slayer! Oops, forgot the most important yutz of the show! Angel: Ol' boy was cool, but I'm surprised they didn't talk more during the sleep over. Wow, AB's performance here was a big step from "MwC" as Kelly's Biker. His sucuumbing to Vamp Lust was okay, but predictable. (Darth Voice: "Join the Daark Side") I'm surprised Darla only shot him once. I did not think Angel enjoyed staking Darla. You could see a sadness in his eyes.. ("dustin' your own mom! Ach!") But those .45's pointed at Buffy must've done something. Buffy's eyes welling up when she realized how painful it must be to axe your mom -- very nicely done :) - -- /--------------------------------------------------------------------\ | Hendu | hendu@usa.net | http://www.personal.psu.edu/hxn106 | | WOWIE! >BAST!< WHAM! | Keeper of Buffy's Black Boots & earrings | | "A suspicious heart will see imaginary ghosts." -- Chinese Proverb | \---------Watch Buffy The Vampire Slayer! WHOO HOO! They didn't just mention the Keepers, they spent longer on the topic than I thought they would, having the Xander and Angel actors reading the chat room talk. Actually that invitaiton thing puzzled me. Obviously Buffy invited Angel into the house the first time (when they were being chased) but the second time, (when the mom was being attacked) he just barged in. Now the only explanation I could come up with was that the invitation from the previous night carried over? Of course this is just nitpicking. :) It was just puzzleing since Darla made such a big deal about Mom inviting her in. Also about the burned cross mark, oh that just made beautiful ending. It would also give a comedic twist to that "painful" comment that Buffy made after the kiss. :) Of course it reminded me of Forever Knight when Nat gave Nick that cross and how it burned an impression in his hand. :) Probably what Bast didn't like. ;) And also the blood in the frige (thou they weren't in wine bottles) and the blinds being open. Yeah... that all resembles FK alright. :) >B) I did not quite get the part about the soul. >Did Angel say that his soul was removed >by the gypsies or did he say that the gypsies >gave him one? I should have taped it. I think the gist of it was that when you become a vampire you lose your soul, and the killing becomes easy. But when the gipses gave it back to him, he couldn't do it anymore. Of course I maybe wrong... >C) Giles seems to be an ok fighter with ok reflexes then how did that >scrawny doctor >last week take him out? Plot inconstincy. I wouldn't say that. I mean he knew that his life wasn't in danger and that he was training someone else. When you actually get into a unpredicable fight with a stranger, it's different. Remember he's a watcher, and is supposed to train, not actually go out and fight. I'm sure in future eps he'll build up some nerve and be able to handle himself. :) >D) Killing off main characters. I was rather >suprised they killed Darla off. She would have >made an excellent nemises to Buffy. Sort of >like Callisto with Xena. Except I believe >Callisto is redeemable while Darla is not. >Darla seemed a wee bit smarter then the >Master. I will miss her she would have been >a great nemises. I dunno, in that fight seen there really wasn't a way for Darla to stop fighting Buffy until one of them was dead. Of course we know the answer to that one... I think her death was much more of a symbol to the Master, that Angel was no longer his. Remember as the end the Master threw a tantrum when Angel killed off Darla. He still had the notion that Angel would be at his side to rule. The Master just lost an ally. Besides, I'm sure there's more vamps around, and they can just make more later. ;) (eesh all this Master talk reminds me of Dr. Who :) >E) Finally Buffy has a boyfriend well sort of. >My question is why did Giles not figure it out >before Angel told Buffy about the curse. Really? I thought they'd agree to go their seperate ways.... sort of a last kiss goodbye? Not that he would help her out in the futrue, but just not be a romantic interest? >Also should Giles have Buffy include it in >her repetroire if they ever capture vampires. >This seems like a great tool to use for >people just becoming vampires.
