And why are people still debating Giles & Buffy's offscreen relationship? -_- Is it so much of a stretch to settle on them having a Mulder/Scully-type platonic thing? Besides, they share a rapport simply on the basis that both were steeped in supernatural lore, born & bred for combat against the Darkness. Similarly, Willow & Xander are linked because they've known each other for so darn long, & know each other's nightmares. In a sense, our tight quartet of Slayerettes has 2 cliques. It's too bad about Savannah -- not because I enjoyed it but Jamie Lunar was cute. ^_- That's ok, though, as we're up to our ears in Aaron Spelling shows already, & those Southern accents were particularly hard on my ears. Yeah, I was in the exact same predicament for that 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea remake this week. I have 2 vcrs, but I missed the first part on Sunday & my mother was using one deck on Buffy day. So what I did was set my vcr to timer record Buffy, & then change channels to tape the last hour of 20K Leagues. Turns out I didn't miss much -- the Nautilus design & SFX were cheesy. ;-D It was nice to see Michael Caine & Mia Sara however. Caine still has his Cylon Imperious Leader voice ("By your command," "Speak, Centurian!"), and Sara has grown up a lot since Ferris Bueller & Time Trash. The weird part was seeing Patrick Dempsey as Pierre Arronax -- I still remember him as that dorky kid on Can't Buy me Love. ;-) Oh, BTW, one of my school-related nightmares actually came true. It was either 88 or 89 when I had this Economics midterm at 8am. When I woke up, the clock said 8:05. ;-o After uttering a whole bunch of words I can't repeat on the list, I dressed & drove the 30 minutes to college! Thankfully, I knew the subject well enough that I still did ok. Does anyone know what time zone the above times refer to? In other words, when does the show air in Central Time? In the meantime, I'm gonna' go hunt down those CD's that Leslie posted as well as look for a two-hour audio cassete to record Lovelines Sunday night. After careful watching of the video, you *can* tell that the two boys aren't the same person, but it's tough. The easiest difference to see is the hairstyle. I suspect the two boys look pretty different if you stand them next to each other in the broad light of day, but with all the shadows in the Master's cave it's hard to see much of the Anointed One besides the fact that he's a young boy with straight black hair. Also, the two boys wore different clothes, though when we see TAO pretty early in the show it's not obvious that Billy always appears wearing the same outfit, ergo that's not Billy. - -- Maytree - --------------------------------------------------------------- Jennifer Hawthorne jen@rio.com jennifer.hawthorne@sierra.com - --------------------------------------------------------------- "What's the fun of burying someone if they're already dead?" - -- The Master [Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Nightmares] ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 15 May 1997 13:43:40 -0700 From: jen@rio.com Subject: Re: BUFFY: Possible episode... Agreed it's a nifty idea -- watching ASH act like Buffy would be a hoot. Doesn't matter that it's a cliche, as long as they do something fresh with it. Some of their other plot ideas haven't exactly been super-original, but it doesn't matter as long as they take a new approach. They've already done body-switching once in any case, so a precedent has been set. >about. Someone should forward this idea to the writers! Errr...this, on the other hand, is *not* a good idea. If you forwarded this to the show's producers you'd guarantee they wouldn't be able to use it, nor anything similar to it. It would be opening them up to a possible lawsuit over story credit, and they won't take the chance. That's what I get for going to Syndicon (it was so incredible, if you are a Highlander fan who wants info ask me OFF LIST). Ok as a Highlander fan and an AFW I wanted to comment on the topic of the Giles Amanda romance. First of all I don't think Giles is her type. She is in love with Duncan and Duncan is someone who is athletic, gorgeous (no offense to the GASPers), and adventurous. I mean Giles is someone who faints in almost every tense situation. Amanda would destroy him. She's too impulsive, too mischeivous. She would be too much for him to handle. Besides in my opinion why would she go from Duncan to GIles... there's just no comparison for me (only my opinion here don't get offended people). Secondly I have to defend Amanda against (I think it was Sonja Marie). Whoever it was said that Amanda is too crass and rude for GIles. I don't agree at all. Amanda may be a thief but she knows how to act like a lady. She isn't rude unless you're rude to her. When she and Mac are rude to eachother it's teasing. I think Amanda is gorgeous, classy, and a lot of fun. But I agree that she's wrong for Giles...she belongs with Duncan. BTW Elizabeth Gracen was a sweetheart at the con.. Also...Xander has a great body...who would've thought.. And Angel is back next week and the next week after that...I'm so happy.. Because of legal reasons, most tv shows return anything that looks like it might be a stroy idea unopened. People have sued movies/tv shows for "poaching" a story idea they have had.
