Another way of looking at this is that there is a question of how one, um... let me try and be delicate here (novel, I know, but still...) how one *defines* virginity. It seems to me that someone (um, something?) like an insect which defines such things in strictly biological terms (using pheremones to attract mates, etc.) would likely define it as intercourse with a member of the opposite sex. In short, Dr. Gregory could be involved with another man and still qualify by that definition as a virgin. This is actually the first explanation that occurred to my family. Personally, I find that more likely than total virginity at his age.... Love, Glo. MFWC//TRG PWFC (So. Highlander movie and series exist in parallel universes according to the ptb's. Makes sense that Buffy would as well. Okay on to the subject at hand: I agree..... Natalie probably took out Professor Gregory to obtain her teaching status at good ol' Sunnydale High. By the way...whatever happened to Buffy's "cramps"? Yet another thing from the Movie. I am sure Joss just left it out due to how it was one of the "lamer" parts of the movie. Maybe we will get to see Buffy crawl buildings wearing a webbed costume..and get to see her Spider Sense Tingle! Or just find out more about the honing in on vampire deal from WttH. Long time no see! No, Ms. French is played by Musetta Vander who has guest starred on Highlander SPOILER>>>>>>as I think the only female immortal that Duncan McLeod has decapitated if memory serves correctly and will soon appear as Sindel in the next Mortal Kombat movie. The actress who plays Belasca, the evil goddess/amazon on XWP is named Melynda something or other, and can be seen as a bad girl in Spawn (along with our own Ms. Calendar, Robia LaMorte, as an intrepid news hound). ObBuffy: Poor Dr. Gregory. He had a kind face that I'm sure Ms. French found delicious. Boo hoo hoo. Thanks. I did a "rough" version of the design, but I didn't feel like it was up to the standards I wanted, so I took it over to the screen printers and told her to "have at it" - I'm anticipating something pretty cool looking (her other artwork has turned out favorablely). It'll be the same basic design (w/ the fangs around the words, etc), but it'll be cleaner and better done. She said she'd try to have it done by the end of the week, and if she does have it finished, I'll put it up on a web page for people to see. If anyone wants to see the original (that I did) I have it available in .pcx form and if you contact me privately, I'll email it to you. Keep in mind though, that it's merely a "rough draft" and not too impressive looking. kimmie ________ Kim Sefcik, Richie Reservist (Clan Denial) ~ MFWC & PWFC ~ Wombat Extraordinare ~ Chancer ~ Cousin ~ Early Edition Lover and Yet Another Bleepin' X-Phile Keeper of Giles' Past / Keeper of Angel's Lower Undergarments Secretary of the GASPers / Maintainer of the "Strange Luck" FAQ "I am Richie Ryan of the Clan... wait, can we try that again?" ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 11 Aug 1997 21:01:16 -0700 From: bandr@impulse.net Subject: Re: BUFFY: Problem with Angel's Reflection A reflection has nothing to do with a soul. Mythology and legend, especially here in the Buffyverse, deal with the suspension of disbelief for a time and they usually don't stand up too well to the imposition of logic. Then again, neither do most scientific principles at first.... Seriously though, most vampiric lore states that they don't have a soul, thus no reflection since popular superstition had it that your reflection was your soul. That same superstition had it that God (pick a god, any god, as long as its a "good" one...:)) found the thought of the undead abhorrant, which is why the sun (from Egyptian mythology), wooden weapons (most Druidic lore), and crosses and holy water (Christianity) hurt them. The legends we have are not pure...they are conglomerations of tons of civilizations, both past and present (bullets soaked in holy water anyone?)
