My philosophy has always been that "one learns of Light when one is in Darkness." I think we'll all be able to dig on Angel once he's brought back to the good-guys now that we've seen his dark side. It's like Anne Shirley says in L. M. Montgomery's books (paraphrasing)"I think I'd want a man that *could* be wicked but wouldn't." Secondly, i find it interesting how different episodes effect their audience. With some, there's very little posts directly relating to new information. But with the "Surprise/Innocence" episodes, it seems like it really hit everyone. I think this episode proved that Buffy *is* a thinking person's show. I do have a theory and I don't think it counts as a spoilers, since i have absolutely NO insider info to back it up, so there's no spoiler protect. If you're afraid I might be psychic, skip the next paragraph. :> Okay, my theory. Everyone is trying to figure out the relationship between Dru and Angel(us). There are thoughts that she may be the Gypsy girl. My thought is that she could be his sister...maybe even twin. Now, before anyone says anything, hear me out. :> First of all, we know that Angel sired her. Many of your vampire legends and tales depict vamps siring their family and loved ones...look at Vampire Lestat from the Anne Rice series. Secondly, there is definately a link of some kind between the two that is more than physical or emotional...maybe even psychic. For evidence of this just look at the scene in "surprise" when Dru senses Angel's change. There are already many theories in the real world about twins having a psychic conection. Angel also told Buffy that he'd killed his family. Later he told her that he'd killed everyone around Dru. What's to say that those incidents weren't one and the same? going back to the psychic thing for a minute, wouldn't it drive *you* insane if you're twin brother became a vampire and then killed your family? Maybe he made Dru a vampire because, being twins, even in his demonic state he couldn't bring himself to sever that link...maybe believing that it would cause some part of him to die completely? Anyway, that's just my 1 1/2 cents. *-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-* Lady Cietdubh *-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-* Free web-based email, Forever, From anywhere! http://www.mailexcite.com - - ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 26 Jan 1998 08:51:47 -0600 From: Mia_McDavid@em.fcnbd.com Subject: Re: BUFFY: buffy's cross The other thing about Buffy's cross (the big, plain one) is that *Angel gave it to her* the first time they met.
