Australia's final episode for the time being 'Nightmares' will screen this week but, adding insult to injury, some affiliates (Prime) are moving that episode to Friday in order to screen a special titled 'Sex Lies and the President'. And, if you're wondering when Buffy will again grace our screens in Australia, I was told that the remaining two epsiodes and all of season two would screen *later* in the year but were not "at liberty to disclose further telecast details at this time." It makes you wonder why so many Australian fans are getting tapes from the US. - -- Evan Harris (Azure) azure99@ozemail.com.au - - ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 2 Feb 1998 14:13:19 -0500 (EST) From: JRoseHale@aol.com Subject: BUFFY: EW's Winner of the Week The February 6 issue of Entertainment Weekly named BtVS "Winner of the Week" in its TV section. Your wisdom is appreciated.... NO spoiler space for U.S.-aired episodes! The rules are quite clear on this point. As much as I sympathize with our Canadian friends, continuing spoiler space for previously-aired episodes would be unwieldy. Buffy is in various states of delay in different countries all over the world and we can't accommodate them all (some parts of the UK are still in season one). This list sets spoiler warnings to the U.S. viewing schedule, and non-U.S. viewers must be aware of, and accept, this fact if they want to participate on this list. It seemed so out of character for a werewolf. Someone should have >been wolf food; I'm not entirely sure werewolves need be considered murderous enemies of humanity, the Vamps and hyena-witches explicitly enjoyed torturing and killing, but they are also explicitly demonic or otherwise evil. The werewolf didn't actually attack or kill anyone, it jumped around, growled, howled, and generally scared on-lookers, but this isn't exactly unusual behavior for a confused animal in a new and unfamiliar situation. If it was responsible for the "animal mutilations" it could have been with territorial dogs, cats, or bunnies (remember President Carter)... Just because Cain implied werewolves were killers, doesn't mean it's true, he's the sort who probably thinks normal wolves are more dangerous to livestock than bad weather or illness. Moreover, whatever Giles found out about werewolves in his books didn't incline him to think they were unutterably dangerous.
