Grades aren't an absolutely indispensable requisite for admission to a second-rate university. Perhaps she'd do well on the S.A.T. (Supernatural Arcana Test). What's troubling isn't that Buffy and Xander would end up in a local university, but that Willow *wouldn't* end up at Cal Tech or Stanford (or M.I.T., if she wanted to go east). For her to stick around Sunnydale would obviously be as much a dereliction of *her* duty (that of realizing her potential), as for Buffy to give up being a slayer. As for Cordy, she doesn't seem brilliant *or* academically diligent, but no one could be that snotty without having the requisite family connections to secure admission to an Ivy League university, quite irrespective of her ability. So why would *she* stick around Sunnydale? Yes, it is possible. I saw a movie awhile ago where a vampire was turned back into a human. It was a gruesome movie. It was about this guy who meets this girl who is a vampire and she turns him into a vampire. He goes and hangs out with her and her pact and so on. But the thing that blew me away was his dad found him and took him into a barn and stuck a needle into him. The father then stuck a needle into himself and was giving blood to his son. The next morning the father opened the barn door and the sun came in and did nothing to the ex-vampire. He then turned the girl back into a human the same way. The movie Lynda is talking about is called Near Dark and starred Lance Hendrikson (Frank Black in Millenium) and Bill Paxton (Billy in Twister). It was a good and gruesome flick, but really well done. The vamps in it were as bad or worse than the vamps in the Buffyverse. However, what works in that movie will probably not work in the Buffyverse unless Joss decreed that it would. Besides, the guy was vamped for a really short time and wasn't posessed by a demon like the Buffyverse vamps are. Add the fact that Angel has been a vamp for 242 years and I really can't see the cure used in the movie working on him. 'Nuff said.
