Joyce may go around and ask questions of the Scooby gang, if she is *ready* to hear the truth and accept the truth. But I think the whole nature of Buffy and Joyce's relationship has to change. Joyce cannot treat Buffy like she's a normal teenager anymore. She's a Slayer first. She has a higher calling and answers to a higher authority. He must know something about Buffy and her slaying. I don't know about anyone else, but if a principal or teacher ever talked to me the way Snyder does to his students, I would report it. That's just not right. Maybe he doesn't know that Buffy is the slayer and when he does find out, undoes the expullsion (I don't know if they can do that) and she comes back to Sunnydale. That is assuming she can work something out with her mother. Maybe she'll go to another school or something. Maybe, Snyder will be fired and then the expulsion will not count for Buffy. Okay. I just want to start off by saying:I'm a 16 yr. old male, and I cried during this episode. No show has ever made me do that before. In fact I cried during 3 other eps. also. Please let me no that I'm not the only guy who did this. Anyway, I loved this ep. JM was great with SMG. I love when villains have scenes with good guys. Hate Xander. Not telling Buffy was low. It was obviously jealousy. I think he's a jerk actually. He loves Buffy, Willow, and Cordy? Come on. He has serious issues to work out. Angel- Please come back! I'm from PA and just think DB is cool, and I hate seeing Buffy suffer. Also hate Joss. (STRANGLE HOLD HERE) I think Whistler(a demon), will pull Angel out. Angel was stabbed in the middle of the chest, not the heart, and he will survive, because he is a demon. Buffy- Think she took a bus to her dad's. She just needs time to think. I think Whistler gave her the wrong idea that she's alone. She has friends who love her. Not sure about her mom though. Maybe she's retarded. I don't know what's going on w/Synder and the mayor. I think they're demons and they wanted the Slayer out of the way. I'm done. - --PK P.S. Lupe asked: > so i saw David & Sarah in the news, now I know this is from NY, but my >question is, where were they at? at a party for WB or something related >to Buffy (private)? I thought they might have been at the premiere of Godzilla. I had heard that SMG was supposed to be there, so maybe DB was as well? In other news.... Wow. One word, all Joss. Wow. I laughed (Spike and Joyce, Xander and Giles), I cried (Buffy's too too real grief at the end...is there such a thing as acting *too* well?), it was better than Cats. Now for some random comments.... 1) I'm not sure Xander's motivations for lying to Buffy were really as black as most people seem to think. He's done a *lot* of growing up recently, enough to be able to show his feelings for Cordelia without a janitors' closet or insults, and enough to realize that he loves Willow. The old Xander really *would* have been trying to cop a feel in the hospital hallway with all the cops around, but the new Xander....I think he's beyond that. I believe, whether I'm alone in this or not, that even had he liked Angel in the past, he would have said the same thing to Buffy. She couldn't afford to have her concentration and determination waver in the slightest. She couldn't have survived that fight if she had been merely trying to delay Angel; she had to be going at it for all she was worth. Her primary goal was to keep Angel from the sword to begin with. Killing him after he had pulled out the sword was the pound of cure, as opposed to the ounce of prevention. 2) I am in awe at the total realism of Joyce's reaction. She's hit with three or four dozen unbelievable things...of course she's going to demand an explanation! She's working under the mindset at this point of, "I'm the parent. I have to be in at least nominal control here." I think that given some time, she would have been able to accept it, but time was one of the many things that we were short on at that point. I mean, if your parents came up to you and said, "Hi. By the way, we're aliens. We found you on the side of a road somewhere. The dog is an undercover FBI agent, and your sister is actually a genetically enhanced parrot", you'd probably want them to slow down, sit down and explain things out to you. Oh, sure, you might be able to accept it (and that would explain your sister's addiction to crackers), but it might take some time. 3) I want Oz! I am sick and tired of seeing him for five minutes here and there....I melted when Willow was waking up and she said Oz, and he said, I'm right here, baby....It was so beautiful! (I'm such a *girl* sometimes. :) ) 4) Angel's death...wow. It was so horrible, watching the emotions play over Buffy's face, with her knowing that she had to kill him, but loving hiim, and having him love and trust her totally. "Close your eyes"...heart-wrenching! Joss, you played our emotions like a harp, you wonderful, evil man, you. 5) So where is Buffy going? Back to LA? Just away for a while? When will she be back? Will she go back to Sunnydale voluntarily, or will she wait until it's declared a National Disaster Area? Perhaps then Snyder will realize that she was not one of the sources of trouble after all...I still don't think he know's she's the slayer.... What about Oz? Isn't he graduating? Now we have to wait until September??? ARGH! Cheers! As an avid fan of Highlander and the X-Files, I've been treated to the best of both worlds with Buffy's finale. Joss' directing ventures with both last season's final and this season's makes me wonder why he isn't directing more. I wish he could; he has the true vision of the show and when he writes and directs, the show is at it's greatest storytelling potential. However, accolaides aside, I was reading the latest issue of Starlog Magazine and it stated that Seth Green (OZ) will be appearing as a regular in the next (3rd!!!) season of Buffy so to all of OZ's fans out there, that tidbit is for you. I'm usually a lurker both here and in the Bronze but when a piece of entertainment moves me, as Buffy's finale did, it's all too impossible not to share in the moment with all of the loyal fans out there. Sarah's line "close your eyes" and the painful expression of her last kiss to Angel was beyond acting, it was a moment of what the Spanish call "DUENDE" - when the body is overcome with the passion on dance that it moves of it's own accord, no matter the pain, the fatigue or the consquence to one's self. Sarah reached that moment and when you are watching it it truly is a moment to savor. Well, those are my two cents for the finale - I shall now retreat back into the halls of the lurkers. I am wondering if the new BtVS spin-off series, Angel, will be about Angel in the present time. I am thinking it might be about Angel in the past before he knew Buffy. It might have the same cast of characters that we saw in the Becoming flashback, like that guy The Whistler. They've completely cleared the slate as far as villains by having Dru and Spike leave, Angel lost in Hell, and even Principal Snyder has severed the relationship between he and Buffy by expelling her. I'm sure Buffy will be returning to Sunnydale cause that's where her friends are, but the cast of villains may be totally revamped (pun intended!) next season. Xander telling her he loved her was sweet and all but I'm far too attached to Oz now, so oh well for the whole Xander/Willow thing. I would be upset if she left Oz, he is so incredibly sweet to her. 2. I stated it last night and I'll state it again, I couldn't love a pair of pants more! (speaking of course about the black leather pants on David). 3. Why is Buffy inviting Spike into her house? I understand that he could be uninvited, but letting him in initially was stupid. Spike has always been out for Buffy, why should he change his mind after he gets what he wants (Dru)? 4. I loved seeing James have more of a simple side. The exchange between Spike and Joyce was priceless. "You hit me with an ax." Love it! 5. Xander telling Buffy to "kick his ass" I thought, was exactly what Xander would have done. From the way he was last week there is no way he would have stopped Buffy from killing Angel. I know it was against what Willow wanted, but I think it was exactly with keeping with the character. 6. Alyson was great in this episode. I love when we get to see more of her personality come out. 7. Cordy was simply decoration in this episode I felt. 8. Dru/Jenny, way too harsh on Gilles, I felt sad for him. 9. I don't think it was necessary for Spike to hit Angel, THAT many times with a crowbar. I did love the Spike/Dru fight. 10. Joyce? A tad harsh don't cha think? I feel she was completely right about wanting buffy to tell her everything but telling her she could never come back was bad. 11. The swordfight had some great moments, but it was sooooo obvious which of the shots were Jeff. It really detracted me. 12. Finally, Angel. I can't believe they put my boy (a little term I use) in hell!!! That scene was beautiful the small kiss Angel gave to Buffy on her shoulder, everything, especially when she said "Close your eyes." I'm hoping he will get rejected by hell because he is a good soul. Joss will figure something out. All in all, a perfect episode. I know i'm forgetting so much, I have to watch it again tonight. I love the way they ended it. He had the perfect chance, instead of hitting with what appeared to be a crowbar he could have used a stake and everything would have been over with. (Of course they couldn't just off Angel). But it would have been easier, Buffy dusts the other couple of vamps, and Spike controls Dru, the sword is never removed; then Spike and Dru walk. The plus side is Buffy wouldn't have had to kill Angel, let alone a soulful Angel.
