First off, I saw a WB18 billboard with 7th Heaven, Dawson's Creek, and Buffy on it (the buffy picture was the blue-ish one of buffy and angel hugging). This was neat to see. If anyone lives in milwaukee and wants to see it in person, it is on I-143 right before the Highrise Bridge. Then, I went to Atomic Records and picked up the onion (a joke newspaper) and looked where they have this graph kinda thing and it was titled "Buffy Mania". here is all the writing in it: Buffy Mania WB's Buffy The Vampire Slayer is one of the breakout hits of this TV season. Why do people like it? 26% Enjoy pertness 16% Sarah Michelle Gellar the Alicia Silverstone of mid-1998 13% Grateful to show for exposing John Ritter as the evil killer robot he really is 18% Best movie-to-show adaption since Harry & The Hendersons 29% Bored of masturbating to Jennifer Love Hewitt 29% Girl pretty 29% Only program with the guts to show what it's really like in today's vampire-ridden high schools For some strange reason, there seems to be 160% instead of the normal 100% when adding up all the things. Well, anyways, they have the milk picture of Sarah in the background (although there appears to be no milk on her lips). I know this is all very preliminary, but a few comments: 1. I guess this is one way to keep SMG as Buffy and allow her to have a movie career too. 2. If they do use the television cast, I'm thinking about timing. They wouldn't be able to film until next summer's hiatus, in which case it would be ready for release sometime early in the year 2000 (I can't write that last phrase without thinking about that damn guy singing in his high-pitched voice from Conan O'Brien.) Or they could wait and release it in the summer of 2000 and, a la The X-Files, it could be used to follow up on that season's finale, which would be the fourth season. 3. Charisma Carpenter. Jeff, you are a thing of evil for mentioning Conan... *g* god, I hate that "feature"... anyway - this is all based on assumption that it will follow (read that - "be integrated") into the show storyline. I mean, it *would* be rather stupid on Joss' part to have the movie based in some totally different timeline, but it's not improbable. >3. Charisma Carpenter. Giant 40 foot tall movie screen image. ALL of the actors that were on that show at the time, were really interested in their fan mail. People in production offices do not answer fan mail for actors, nor have I ever heard of a central mailing center that does. The truth is that actors get a lot of fan mail and a great deal of really weird mail. Also, unless a show is in production all the time, like a soap opera, the actors most likely do not receive their mail every day. Who knows when SMG actually receives the fan mail considering that it has to be sorted, counted, sent over to the production offices at Buffy, which by the way are not actually located on the main WB lot in Burbank, and then it has to be forwarded to her. If you sent a letter recently, I wouldn't be too upset if you don't receive a reply for a while, and if you sent a letter a while ago, consider that it takes a long time to answer thousands of letters. If you sent a polite letter, most likey you will receive a reply, but not always. Some actors are not into the whole fan letter-give me an autograph deal. Well, they appear to change when they're attacking, feeding, or showing off their wrinklies to the boys. As far as faces not changing in other vampire universes, I disagree. The vampires in "Interview With A Vampire," and "Kindred: The Embraced," as well as in several movies I've seen, looked different when they were angered and/or fed. Sometimes the morphing wasn't as drastic, but when they were in true vampy mode none of them look like your average Joe Schmoe to me.
