If there's not, I think that there should be. I don't mind people mentioning they have a new site evry now and then, but I hate getting tons of mail from people saying that they've added a picture to their site or added a couple new links. Do we really need to know everytime someone updates their site? A better way would be for the people who run the sites to set up mailing lists and that way the people who are interested in their websites can be e-mailed when the site changes instead of subjecting everyone on the list to it. Thankfully, it's only a couple of people who do it, but think, what if everyone on the list who had a website e-mailed the list everytime they updated it? It's not fair to the people who just don't care. Another problem is that a lot of these posts start out "Buffy-related" and then drift off-topic. People get warned for discussing Cruel Inventions, yet the person who constantly mentions that Titanic is available for sale on their site doesn't. "Coming next week, we will have claddagh rings available in either silver or gold at insanely low prices - imported from Ireland and delivered right to your door." I mean seriously, does that sound more like a used car commercial or Buffy discussion? Not to mention that 90% of the site is ways for the webmaster to make money. I'm sorry to rant, I'm just sick of seeing the commercialization of the list. At least one of the posters doesn't send out 3 advertisements a night like she used to. - - - - ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 5 Aug 1998 22:05:10 -0400 (EDT) From: Erin Kelley Subject: BUFFY: Quick Question Hi, could someone please inform a poor soul who hasn't had the good fortune of seeing the episode please tell me which Sarah McLachlan song they played on Buffy? Tracy - - ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 5 Aug 1998 19:17:37 -0700 From: taygeta@juno.com (Charity C. T.) Subject: BUFFY: IMG & KBD Hi, I have a question pertaining to Incan Mummy Girl and Killed By Death. I wondering why it is that a majority of people don't like those episodes? What was wrong with it? I personally adore the episode...it's in my top ten of favorites. Maybe it's the B/X fan in me because I loved the Buffy and Xander interaction in that episode especially. Their conversations on "Dateville" and the "Be careful/ I will...Hey...you look good" at the door and the "I had you to bring me back" in the end...it was done very well and low-played to the extent that implied something, but it showed a lot of closer friendship on their part. Also, it's the Oz introduction episode with "Who is that girl?" And not to mention Xander's willingness to sacrifice his life if it meant saving Willow's. As for KBD, the Angelus/Xander confrontation with "Buffy's White Knight. You still love her. It must eat you up that I got to her first," in which Xander notoriously replies, "You're going to die and I'm going to be there." That's the *only* Angelus/Xander confrontation I have seen and it couldn't have been done better. Not to mention, Xander and Cordy's talk about "The watch her back and it's euphemism." As for the B/X fan in me, what i found most appealing through that aspect is Xander carrying Buffy into the hospital and saying immediately, "She's sick. Make her better." and the second catch of her after she killed Death. Also, this episode gave me the perfect titleage for one of my fanfic series, so it holds special rememberance to me in the factor. Just rambling and wondering, Charity Co-president of the Buffy-Xander Lovers (BXL) Club Member #424 of WPWP _____________________________________________________________________ You don't need to buy Internet access to use free Internet e-mail. Yes, Principal Snyder, head of Sunnydale high school and Hellmouth manager is taking a leave of absence from the teaching gig and getting into terrorizing as a member of the undead. According to Armin Shimerman, the actor who plays Principal Snyder on the show, Buffy will return to school in the first episode, and shortly after that, his character will probably go kaput. "It takes two hours to get into my makeup [as Quark]," said Shimerman, who also plays the Ferengi bartender on Deep Space Nine, "so I'm happy I've remained prosthetic-free on Buffy. But they're fitting me for prosthetics when I get on the set because I think they're going to turn me into a zombie or something." The show has a real penchant for killing off main cast characters, so it's probably very likely that Snyder's days are numbered. On the good side, Buffy'll probably be overjoyed to stick a stake through her season two tormentor, or at least until she gets a look at his replacement.
