This is just my opinion, but Giles says something along the lines of having to wake Billy up before all reality collapsed and they were stuck in the nightmare world forever. That in mind, I think that Buffy hadn't completely become a vampire yet. She may have had the physical attributes, but hadn't been completely taken over by the demon yet. I'm sure some of these have been mentioned before, but I submit them for your approval.... Lie to Me--The final scene in the graveyard. Easily one of the best moments in a show full of them. Bittersweet, and really sums up what Buffy is all about--taking chances and breaking the "rules" of standard TV shows. Innocence--Once again, the final scene with Buffy and Giles when she's looking for him to be mad at her for what's she done. I loved it. Some Assembly Required--the graveyard scene. Has so many great one liners and character moments that it almost redeems a lackluster episode. Innocence--Buffy takes on the judge. Just wonderful. Passions--Buffy confronts Giles and says she can't live without him. Also, the scene where Buffy and Willow find out about Ms. Calendar's death. Angel--The cross burned on his chest after they kiss. Becoming, Part Two--The swordfight. Esp. the part where Angel says he's taken away everything and what's Buffy got left. "Me" she responds. I loved that one. Lie to Me--the scene between Ford adn Spike. It's funny and chiling at the same time. Well, those are just a few that spring to mind... Michael mhickers@usit.net - - ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 11 Aug 1998 17:26:48 -0400 From: "Jeff Rohaly" Subject: BUFFY: National ratings for PG, WSWB Last Monday's repeat of Prophecy Girl got a national Nielsen rating for households of 2.5, placing it in a 91st place tie out of 112 prime time shows. Last Tuesday's repeat of When She Was Bad received a 2.4, good enough for a tie for 93rd overall. Out of the 14 WB programs, Prophecy Girl was tied for 5th and WSWB tied for 7th. The top rated WB program of the week was Dawson's Creek that received a 2.9, placing it 85th overall. Although we're talking about small differences here (there hasn't been all that much overall movement in Buffy's national ratings lately), Prophecy Girl was the highest rated episode since The Witch back on June 15th. Also, note the difference in how Buffy and Dawson's Creek perform outside the large cities. In the overnight ratings -- that measure viewing in just 40 of the largest TV markets in the country -- last Tuesday's Buffy (WSWB) got a 3.3 rating and Dawson's Creek got a 2.8. Now in the national ratings -- that measure viewing in the entire country -- WSWB got a 2.4 whereas DC got a 2.9. So once the smaller, less urban markets are included in the ratings, Buffy went down by about 27% yet Dawson's Creek actually went up by about 4%. This is the first time since its return that DC actually went up from the overnights to the nationals. Usually, it's just the case that DC's national falls less from its overnight than Buffy's does. But the implication is the same -- Buffy appeals more to audiences in the big cities whereas DC has broader appeal. This has been especially pronounced lately, as Buffy has actually been beating DC in the big cities whereas DC has been performing better in the overall nationals. Here are the national household ratings for the last several Tuesday repeats: July 28, School Hard: 2.2 July 21, The Dark Age: 2.3 July 14, IOHEFY: 2.4 For the Monday Buffy repeats: July 27, Invisible Girl: 2.3 July 20, Nightmares: 2.3 July 13, Angel: 2.2 Jeff Rohaly rohaly@iaw.com http://www.iaw.on.ca/~rohaly/tvschedule/buffy.html (archive of Buffy's Nielsen ratings) - - ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 11 Aug 1998 18:07:24 EDT From: Subject: BUFFY: Dead Man on Campus Just wanted to tell everyone that tonight at 10:30e Comedy Central's Canned Ham movie show is having a special on Dead Man on Campus which Aly is in.
