It already has ALOT of hits- http://www.tidalwave.net/~Magic/marriage.html Hey! Thanks for coming to my web page. This page was created in hopes that I could get married to the woman I love. When my girlfriend and I were talking about the internet and web pages in just a normal conversation, I said that it was possible for millions of people to visit one page on the web. My girlfriend didn't think it could happen. We made a bet about it, and I said that if I won she would have to marry me. This was intended to be a joke, but she actually agreed to this bet!! If i get 1 MILLION HITS on this page, she will really marry me! I'm sure you think it sounds stupid to get married off of a bet like this, but it actually happened and we really do love each other. This is a TRUE STORY!!! Please help me get married to the woman I love by forwarding this page either by icq or e-mail. If you've ever been in love, then you know how I feel and may understand why I've made this page. Please forward the page to as many people as you can and may you too find love as I have! I think the old movie Buffy and her Mom are watching at the end of Innocence is 1936's "Stowaway," which was actually a Shirley Temple vehicle. That's Robert Young (Father Knows Best and Marcus Welby, M.D.) and Alice Faye in the scene (I think), and the song is "Good Night, My Love." Not only was the clip a great way to contrast Buffy's recent experience, but it's also funny (coincidental?) that the night before, Angel himself was about to "stowaway" on a cargo ship to Asia. Well, that's my contribution to today's Random Buffy Trivia. Mary - - ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 21 Aug 1998 20:14:10 -0500 From: "Keryn Aikman" Subject: BUFFY: SMG in "George" magazine Hi all- FYI, SMG is in the September issue of George magazine on page 110... there is also a full page pic of her on the following page.. here is what it says: "Sarah Michelle Gellar Fresh Blood- By Debbie Stoller She is not your mother's idea of a role model- after all , she wears short skirts, is a no A student, and has had sex with her boyfriend-but Buffy the Vampire Slayer, played with uncommon vitality by SMG, represents real girl power, the kind that can kung-fu the undead back into oblivion. Now heading into her second hit season on the WB network, Buffy apeared on the scene just as psychologists were reporting hat during adolescence, many girls mutate from self-confident, assertive little brats into self-hating, anorexic little women. In "Reviving Ophelia" for example, Dr. mary Pipher laid the blame for a girls' plummeting self-esteem firmly at the feet of a girl-hostile culture. Seen in this light, Gellar, who also fought good fights in horror flicks like "Scream2" and "I Know What You Did Last Summer", might be just what the doctor orderered. She's a heroine who's tough as nails- sparkly blue ones at that. Unbeknownst to its residents, Buffy's california hometown sits atop a mouth of hell, and it is Buffy's destiny to beat the living daylights out of the sunlight-fearing crowd. But what she's really taking on is the regular assortment of challenges that threaten to suck the lifeblood out of teenage girls, like a suffocating high school hierarchy and a sexual double standard. When her boyfriend suddenly goes cold shoulder on her after they've finally slept together, Buffy doesn't jsut get mad- she gets even. Granted he excuse is that he's turned out ot be a vamp, but it's refreshing to see a teenage girl avenge her pain so directly. Twenty years ago, "Bewitched" and "I Dream of jeannie" suggested that if the little lady at home were allowed to unleash her powers, all hell would break loose. "Buffy The Vampire Slayer" suggests that girls have the power to save the world."" .... granted this writer is prolly not a viewer as she thinks BtVS is only entering it's second season, and the comment about Buffy getting even with Angel as he turned out to be a vamp, when we all know she knew all along he was one.. plus she didn't exactly avenge him giving her the cold shoulder... but I thought you all might like to know of the article none the less :) Keryn - - ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 21 Aug 1998 21:52:04 EDT From: fun-ee@juno.com (fu nee) Subject: Re: BUFFY: If Xander can lie so can the Prez... "Slayer01" wrote: >At least when Xander lied he thought he was doing the right thing in >protecting Buffy's heart but when the President lied/not volunteered inf0 >he was only protecting himself and wasn't thinking about anyone but >himself. Well, that's one interpretation. But if I can offer another: Consider that the President was indeed thinking about his family, his wife and daughter and the harm that admitting that he had an affair would cause to his family in producing more pressure upon his marriage, more bad publicity and pressure on his wife and daughter to deal with. And, if you would also consider, maybe Xander wasn't just thinking of protecting Buffy, maybe he was thinking of himself and thinking that with Angel out of the way, he could move in and take his place as Buffy's lover. And to draw more parallels. I can't help thinking about Principal Snyder and Ken Star. Principal Snyder has stated on numerous occasions that he was out to get Buffy, that Buffy was at the bottom of all the trouble in Sunnydale High, that Buffy was a troublemaker and that he would expel her, and each and every episode he was there scrutinizing, suspecting and implying that Buffy and her friends were responsible for the trouble until in the finale season episode he finally did get his way and expels Buffy. You all saw how he gloated in Becoming when Buffy returned to the library to get the sword. Principal Snyder didn't want to be unbiased, he had already made up his mind that Buffy is no good and doesn't deserve a second chance and that sooner or later he'd get her because she deserves it. All the other investigations of the President have turned up failures. And now, with this private affair, Ken Star is going to use it as an excuse to get the President. And, for what purpose? I heard Star the other day talking about continuing the investigation so that the legal process can best be served. Served for what? What could a scandal like this serve to do but embarass the President and his family and burden the American people with nonsense they are tired of listening to. I mean so what if the President lied about the affair? He didn't hurt anyone. The American people can't be so naive as to not realize that Jack Kennedy, Roosevelt, and so many other Presidents had extramarital affairs. If Ken Star had hounded those other Presidents as he has President Clinton, I'm sure this would not be the first President caught with another woman. funee _____________________________________________________________________ You don't need to buy Internet access to use free Internet e-mail.
