SPOILER ABOUT THE SEASON OPENER













I have a question about the city where Anne stayed. Is the city on a 
Hellmouth because of the presence of demons? I mean, I think all the 
previous eps shown so far were all centered in Sunnydale. Pretty weird 
to have demons in Diego (at least that's where I think it was). 

Overall the ep was cool, kind of lame in some parts, but the awesome 
fighting action made up for it. I think the school scenes were real 
boring though. Also when was the last time anyone saw the library filled 
with people?

there for 15 minutes (which is a low guestimate),  wouldn't that have

I think that's enough. Did anyone else notice that when Buffy goes to the
"Family Home" or whatever that hellish place with the tar pit in the floor
was called, that the stunt coordinator Jeff Pruitt was the guy who opened
the door? At first I was thinking, Where do I know that guy from? And then
it hit me. I'm POSITIVE that was him.

No, you've got it reversed....


If she was there for just 15 minutes, then in actualy earth time it
would have been like a fraction of a second...

okay, if 1 earth day =3D 100 years there, then 15 minutes in this other
world would equal about .0246 seconds of earth time passed.... :)

Let's take the original measurement.  100 years Vs 1 Day.  That's in Hell
Time Vs Earth Time.  So 15 Minutes In Hell would be a matter of seconds in
Earth Time.  So basically in a matter of a couple of seconds as everyone on
Earth would have seen it, they had that whole 15 minute(?) adventure,
because Hell time is much much faster than Earth Time.  Hope this cleared
it up for you.

I don't think that the city itself was on a hellmouth.  Thats Sunnydale.
Strange things happen in other places, they just tend to gravitate towards
Sunnydale because of the Hellmouth.

Yeah, but I think Lili was a little bit right. Evil forces follow Buffy, 
or even just the Slayer in general.   *shrugs*  I base this on because 
Evil Forces were also in LA, in the BTVS movie.  

for a few days, after I started reading "Child of the Hunt" I've been 
thinking about it would be cool if they have a Watcher indepth ep.  We 
don't really know about the Watchers.  Now, if they want to keep the 
mystical aspect of that, that's cool, but we don't know anything about 
the Watchers really.  As a show tie-in, I think it would be interesting 
if they somehow were related to the Watchers in Highlander:The Series.

Last week's repeat of Becoming Part 2 got a national Nielsen rating for
households of 2.7, putting it in a 91st place tie out of 122 prime time
shows.  Out of the 15 shows on The WB network last week, Buffy was tied for
3rd.  The top rated WB program of the week was the season premiere of 7th
Heaven.  It received a 4.4, landing it in 85th place overall.

Here are the national household ratings for the last several Tuesday repeats:
September 15, Becoming Part 1: 2.6
September 8, pre-empted for Dawson's Creek
September 1, Go Fish: 2.1

I hated the new theme song.  Hated it. Couldn't stand it. I want Nerf
Herder back. Very badly. I am motivated enough about this to go and try to
organize a mass letter-writing campaign asking for it to be put back.

The opener was alright.  Too fast for me to see and I'm procrastinating
from other things.  There was hardly anything from the first season and
just little things from the second.  I do want to check it out just for
potential hints of next season.

The episode itself was enjoyable purely because it was new Buffy and Buffy
got to whup serious ass for a very extended period of time.  And she had
good hair!  That was happy!  

Did anyone think of Anne of Green Gables when Buffy referred to herself as
Anne with those pigtails?  I kept thinking "puffed sleeves".

As for Kelli Martin/SMG references, I saw an episode of "Life Goes On"
when Becca makes two dates for the same dance.  And there's the date of
her friend who looks awfully like a *very* young Seth Green. Am I
hallucinating or did I really want Buffy?

I thought that the episode was a total disappointment.  There was no
explanation for the people who ruled "hell."  Who were those people?
Demons?  Zombies?  That was really cheesy the way they stuck this "hell"
in there to give Buffy something to fight away from Sunnydale.

However, I thought that the Sunnydale events were pretty decent.  The next
episode better be awesome to make up for this premiere... YUCK!

I woke up this moring listening to Z100 (a radio station in new york).  i
always listen to their morning show and usually their info is all correct.
So, they are talking about whats on tv tonight and they Mention buffy, and one
of the guys goes "If you are a fan of Buffy: The Vampire Slayer, this will be
the last season you'll see Sarah Michelle Gellar on it"  So of course since
I'm such a big fan of hers i like collapsed on my floor and was almost in
tears.  Okay but thats not even the wierdest part of this all.  I go in to
school and tell my friend that Sarah is leaving the show and she says to me
that she heard that Sarah is going to be attending Villanova.  I went to the
source that she heard this from who happens to be my friend randi.  And i
asked her what was up, she said that she heard from her boyfriend who goes to
villanova that Sarah will be going there.  Now I give Sarah definate props,
but I still feel terrible that she is leaving, the show won't be the same.
Also, I thought that sarah had a 5 year contract to BTVS, not a 3 year.  Well,
thats all I know, has anyone else heard anything?

I love the new theme song.  It sounded pretty much the same to me, just
vamped up a bit (no pun intended).  The old one was getting so, well, old.
I was sick of it.

I laughed about this with my husband.  But here is my take on it. It was the

I'd just like to point out that Joss is probably not one of the best writers
of all time, the reason:  have you seen his movies?  Yikes!  But I will
admit that most of the time, this episode especially excluded, Joss is a
brilliant writer, but he's not perfect as "Anne" so perfectly stated.

I think this had something to do with the fact that it's usually Giles and/or
Willow who end up explaining what the monsters do, where they're from, etc.

Well I can say that I love the opening shot, but the music needs to go 
back either to season 1 effects or season 2 effects.  I don't like this 
jazzed up version,  of course I don't like change all that much.

I absolutely loved how cordy and xander were so unsure of there feelings 
for one another, and on the verge of breakup took a crisis to bring them 
back together.  I loved how Xander wanted to use Cordy as BAIT and she 
AGREED, goes to show how they'll use any excuse to be together w/in the 
scooby gang, but not in school or being so nervous. Willow is the rock.  
Up is up with Joyce, I can understand her feelings in being replaced as 
an "authority" figure in Buffy's life, but the issues that she has, 
needs to be sorted out with Buffy, not Giles.

I loved the fighting scene, and I agree w/ who ever said this earlier 
this year, but it's so obvious that it's the stunt double doing the 
fighting and not SMG, TPTB should do something about that, but oh well.  
I loved how lily finally took Buffy's advised and started caring for 
herself and others, instead of others taking care of her.

As for some people who are angry that this didn't turn out to be the 
"Buffy & Angel" show, chill out, remember there are other main 
characters on the shows, on the list and several tv show interviews, it 
was stated that Angel was not going to be back immediately.  There was a 
lot of questions unanswered in the season opener, but they will be taken 
care of through-out the season.  Joss and Co. are to smart to have all 
the questions answered in one show period, there wouldn't be a season, 
nor a show.  Remember this is a business, they give you just enough to 
keep us coming back for more.

Grant, right now this is not going on my all time top 10 list, but a 
good all round episode that showcase all the main characters and spend a 
lot of time on the title character.  I'm going to have to watch Anne a 
couple more times and let it digest to see were I want to put it, but as 
of right now on my Buffonia Scale 1 - 10: 7.  By sunday I should have a 
new poll up and a review & synopsis of Anne.

I think the differences between when SMG is doing the fight scenes and
when her stunt double is doing them were made even worse in "Anne"
because of the horrendous condition of SMG's hair after its torturous
summer.  Did you see the hair in the close ups?  It was multi-colored! 
Brown, orange, yellow, oh my!  There's no chance in Hellsmouth to get
the doubles hair/wig near that color.  So the use of the double became a
little distracting as Buffy's hair went from a mess to perfectly blonde
and back again.

Still, great fight sequence.

with Killed By Death. <<<

WHAT??? Not to be rude, but were we even watching the same episode... It 
was great... so the plotline was a little silly the rest of it was reall 
kick ass...

In my opinon she saw that what ses needed to do was get over what 
happened because people need her to save them from all the bad things... 
And whos to say that maybe she still won't seareach for Angel and see 
that she had to kill him... I think Joss wanted to stay away from the 
angel plotline for the premiere...

A couple of hours after watching last night's season premiere of Buffy I
was thinking about the episode and it's main bad guy. Suddenly I got it.

When I realized that I laughed for five minutes. I don't think that was
a coincidence. Do you?

The Vampire Slayer" and the look she gave! 

My FAVORITE scene was Buffy and Angel on the beach.  That got me back on my

I'm in Georgia and there was no preview for the next episode here either.
Wonder if this is going to keep up?

I have to say, I was a little disappointed in last night's episode.  It
wasn't awful
by any means; part of my disappointment probably had a lot to do with
having VERY
high expectations from last season's enders.  Maybe my expectations were
so high
that "Anne" had to disappoint, no matter how good it was.  I would've
preferred to
see Buffy's return to Sunnydale stretched out over another episode or
two; I thought
that aspect was resolved too quickly.  And I would've preferred to see
her, Lily, et al.
spend more time in the other dimension and face more of a challenge in
getting out.

Some things I liked about the episode...the ending was very touching
(though it should've
been next week's ending).  The choreography of the last fight scene with
Buffy was
excellent, and also showcased SMG's skills well.  One of my favorite
scenes from the
episode, though, was when Xander was fighting the vampire and Cordelia
impaled it
on Xander's stake, causing them to literally fall into each other's arms
after the
vampire was dispelled.  The accompanying music was genius for its sheer
cheese
value!
