This list is for fiction related to "Buffy The Vampire Slayer," both the TV series and the movie. To ensure that we all get to enjoy as much fiction as possible, please adhere to the following guidelines, and please save them for future reference. 1. Fiction should have Buffy characters in it and clearly be related to Buffy. Crossovers are great, and expected, but general vampire/monster stories that aren't in the Buffy universe and don't use Buffy characters belong somewhere else. 2. Discussion of posted fiction is permitted onlist. Please put "DISCUSS" in your subject line. Requests for missing story parts should go directly to the author, and not be posted to the list. Discussion that is not related directly to the fiction should go over to the general Buffy list. Discussion of fiction is expected to follow common netiquette guidelines and use PG-13 language. 3. No advertising of items or services, Buffy related or not, and no posting of non-story items such as .gifs, sound files, etc.. No attached files of kind-- if your mailer makes your fiction into attached files, you need to find another way to get it to the list. 4. If you're writing a story and including advance information on a new episode, and you're posting your story earlier than the national viewing time, please: **Mark the post as a "spoiler" in the subject header. **Leave about twelve lines (blank or with non-spoiler info) at the top of the post. This ensures that anyone who doesn't like knowing about an episode ahead of time is "protected." :) The blank space is for people whose mailers automatically open up the next piece of mail, without giving them a chance to see "spoiler" in the header. Spoiler warnings are not necessary after the start of the episode's national viewing time, which is currently set at 9 p.m. Mondays, Eastern Standard Time. Spoiler warnings are not necessary for reruns. 5. This list is absolutely NOT for erotic fiction. stronger than sexually PG-13 material is to be posted to the list under any circumstances. A story may be R rated for violence or language, however. If you have a question about something's suitability for posting, feel free to ask one of the listowners. Sending sexually explicit material will get you immediately and permanently unsubscribed. No exceptions. 6. By subscribing and/or posting to this list, you acknowledge that Buffy the Vampire slayer and all characters associated with either the televised series or the motion picture were created by Josh Whedon and are owned by Mutant Enemy productions, Kuzui Productions, Sandollar Productions, and 20th Century Fox. All stories posted to this list are for entertainment purposes only, are not sold for profit of any kind, and are not intended to infringe on any copyrights. 7. When posting stories to the list, please follow the following formatting guidelines - --No story parts longer than 250 lines - --No lines longer than 75 characters - --Turn off your "smart quotes"-- many readers receive these as garbage or weird symbols - --Put the title of the story in the subject header, indicate if it's a multipart story, and if so what part this is. Example: Buffy Meets Godzilla (2/65) indicates that this post is part two of a 65 part story. 8. If a story is rated "R" for language/violence, indicate this in an introduction. For example, "There's a really bloody fight scene at the end of this part" or "if you don't like dismemberment, stop reading now!" If there's chance that someone might be disturbed by something in your story (even if it's not rated R) please include some kind of warning up front. 9. And last, but not least, the listowners reserve the right to deny subscription (new, renewed, or continued) to the list for any individual(s). PLEASE NOTE: not following any or all of these rules will get you the following: **First offense: offender is unsubscribed for one week. **Second offense: offender is unsubscribed to the Buffyfic list for a minimum of three months. **If the offender returns and does it again, they're offlist permanently. As noted above, posting sexually explicit material is the exception -- you go straight to permanent unsubbing. Again, welcome! If you have any questions about these rules, please contact either one of us offlist. If you have subscription problems or questions, the fastest way to get help is to e-mail one of us at the addresses below, at the kirby@xmission.com addy which is the "official" e-mail owner of the list. It was a weird morning at school today. On my break, I happened to be sitting across the way from a store, and the weirdest thought popped into my head. I hope this amuses. It doesn't have a serious plot, so for those that like having "new, deep, meaningful" material, just delete it now. It's fluff. Pure, simple, insane fluff. ~Anya *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Tinsel and Strings by Anya "Okay, so that's everyone on my list done!" Xander smirked, tossing a white plastic bag over his shoulder. Willow and Buffy exchanged a dubious look. "Um. Xander?" Buffy broached the subject tentatively, "You bought ALL your presents in there?" The boy beamed. "Yup. Like I do every year." Tugging a baseball cap onto his head, he smiled broadly. "I'm done, we can go home now." "No we can't, Xander." Willow murmured, pulling a notepad out of her pocket. "You may be done with your Christmas shopping, and I know I'm eagerly looking forward to my Thirteenth Annual Christmas pair of mittens, but you promised to go shopping WITH us." "Mittens?" Buffy asked incredulously. "He buys you mittens every year?" Willow shook her head in denial. "No, he doesn't." Xander beamed as she spoke, the smile fading as she continued. "He buys EVERYONE a pair of mittens, every year. Wait and see!" "Oh come on, Will...I don't buy EVERYONE a pair of mittens." Willow rolled her eyes, "Yeah, you buy your Dad gloves. What WAS I thinking?" She stuffed her pen back into her pocket, and reached for her wallet. Frowning into the contents, she began to quickly count. "Who do you have left to buy for, Willow?" Buffy asked, picking up her arsenal of bags. "I've got my Dad left, and I was thinking of sending Snyder a present. I haven't decided, though, between Arsenic, or atomic waste." "Hmmm? That's nice. I just have to buy Oz a G-string for Christmas." Willow jiggled the wallet a bit, scattering the coins a bit to see if she'd missed any. She didn't miss the coinage, but did miss the sound of her friends bags all collectively hitting the floor with a thud. "A WHAT!?!?" Xander bellowed. "You're getting him a WHAT? You've only known him a month...isn't that a little overly personal? I mean, Willow...you don't know much about the guy...he could be a werewolf, or a...a.... Buffy, help me out here? What else could he be?" Buffy however, was busy trying to pick her jaw up off the floor. Each time she tried to vocalize anything, a tiny squeak came out. Willow shot them both a puzzled look. Turning around to face them, she tucked both hands on her hips. "I beg your pardon? What's so personal about a G-string? And it's, at least, something Oz wants. He said as much." "I BET he did!" Xander fumed. In his mind, he could already see the exchange of Christmas presents between Oz and Willow. And it made his blood boil. Still confused by Xander's attitude, Willow sighed, and let the subject drop. "Whatever, Xander. I'll just go buy it now, and that's done with." Xander and Buffy both made a lovely squawking sound. Willow rolled her eyes, but kept right on moving. The shop Oz had seen the string in, and lusted after in front of her, was on the lower floor of the plaza. Dodging the hustling and bustling of shoppers, she made her way for the escalators. Behind her, several feet back, Xander and Buffy were fighting to catch up to their friend. Loaded down as Buffy was, it was all she could do to not slug the people in her way with the various parcels. Xander was busy trying to not hurl as his mind graphically detailed the implications of Willow's casual shopping list. A G-string. His sweet, innocent, pure, virginal Willow had said that so...so...nonchalantly. His mind shuddered. "She's not serious, is she?" He muttered to the panting Slayer beside him. "I mean, it's a joke, right?" Buffy shook her head, throwing her left arm and its burden up high as a small child nearly ran into her. "No, Xander. Willow was pretty serious, and we are heading in the right direction of Victoria's Secrets." "Oh God." Xander whimpered. "I can't do this! I can't watch my best friend buy something so...so..." "Sexy?" Buffy offered helpfully. "Indecent." He finished resolutely, shooting a firm 'Willow is not to be thought of as sexy!' glare. Buffy hid a small smile. Willow was well out of sight, most likely already in the store finding her purchase. "What's so indecent about it? It's not like she's going to model it for you!" He whimpered again, his mind goggling over the mere thought. "I should hope not!" He squeaked, finally. "Prude." Buffy laughed. Stopping at the glassed wall to the store, she set the bags down, and sighed in relief. "I can't believe we didn't bring a car! I don't know HOW I'm going to get all of these on the bus." "Willow won't have much of a problem getting her package on the bus." Xander muttered, steadily refusing to look into the store. He could mentally picture Willow dropping a mere scrap of satin on the counter, and paying for it. Would she get a gift box? Or just wear it and let Oz open.... "GAH!" He jumped as a hand touched his shoulder from behind. Willow stared up into his startled face. "What? Why are you two over here? The music store is over there!" Xander and Buffy both facefaulted. "Music store?" "Of course!" Willow chirped. "Where else did you think I'd find a new G-string for Oz's guitar?" - --Then end-- - - ------------------------------ End of Buffyfic-digest V1 #61 ***************************** To subscribe to buffyfic or buffyfic-digest, send the command subscribe buffyfic-digest or subscribe buffyfic to majordomo@xmission.com.
