Star-Cross’d Lovers (1/?) by Jaclyn Amy TITLE: Star-Cross’d Lovers AUTHOR: Jaclyn Amy RATING: DISTRIBUTION: Ask me first. SPOILERS: None. SUMMARY: Angel is Angelus and has killed Ms. Calendar. Pretty much, this just shows how strong Angel’s and Buffy’s love is. Oh, and this isn’t your regular restoration story. This gets sad, so if you are not into that kind of thing, don’t read it. DISCLAIMER: I do not own Buffy the Vampire Slayer. It is owned by Joss Wheden, Mutant Enemy, Sandollar Productions, 20th Century Fox, etc. No infringement intended. FEEDBACK: Please. Star-Cross’d Lovers (1/?) For days, Buffy just cried; not wanting to live, unwilling to die. The two most important people in her life were murdered, and nothing could change that. Not finding a new love, not devoting her life to avenging their deaths, not even bringing Angel back. Being suicidal, she had purchased a gun. She had promised herself that if she let everyone perish, she would murder herself. In misery, Buffy grieved alone in her room, with the gun. Willow and Xander had tried to visit, but she wouldn’t let them in. "Buffy, please, open up!" Willow cried. "I have important news." Finally, Buffy let her friend inside. "What?" "It’s Cordelia." "What about her?" Tears started to shed from Willow’s already tear-stained face. "Buffy, she was turned to a vampire last night." "What!?" "That’s," she sniffled,"that’s not the worst part. After she changed, she, she, she…" "Willow, what is it?" "She murdered Xander!" Buffy embraced Willow, and they stood there, crying together, for a while. Willow finally left and wandered the streets. Confused, angry, hurt, she went to look for Angelus to stake him. She was successful in finding him, but not in killing him. He overpowered her greatly and killed her quickly. *** Buffy was not expecting the call that she would receive the next day. She had now lost everything: her friends, her family, her love. She grabbed the gun and was about to pull the trigger when Willow’s parents called. Mr. and Mrs. Rosenberg had asked Buffy to take Willow’s belongings since they were so close. Before going to the house, she locked her gun in her desk drawer and put the key on the nightstand. With a heavy heart, she searched through her computer files. One of the documenets sounded interesting to her, so she opened it. "The Restoration Ceremony." //Ohmigod// she thought. //Maybe I haven’t lost my love…// End Part 1 - - ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 04 Apr 1998 23:11:38 From: Sarah Douglas Subject: BUFFYFIC: "The Cure" (2/14) DISCLAIMER: I don't own Buffy or any of the other wonderful characters in the Buffyverse. I am using them without the permission of the people who do own them who are not going to sue me because I am not making any money off this. Joss Whedon, WB, Mutant Enemy, Kusui and Sandollar own the Buffy characters. DISTRIBUTION: Just ask. RATING: Probably PG FEEDBACK: I would love to know what you all think of this. Please send me feedback. Pretty please. SUMMARY: Okay, well this takes place while Ms. Calendar is still alive, but Angel is evil, so probably Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered. It's another "Angel gets his soul back" story which I wrote to convince myself that Angel could be good again. It's kind of long and I'm sorry about that you all. Well, enough with the talk, on with the show. AUTHOR'S MESSAGE: Okay, I'm sorry it took me so long to send this next part out, but due to school work, buffyfic and willowfic piled up in huge stacks in my box, and I've been working very hard to do all my school work and read fic because I want to read the fic and I don't want to do my homework. SPECIAL THANKS: Special thanks goes out to Angellov for pumping up my ego after I sent this in. ONE LAST THING: A while ago I think I promised to be someones beta reader, but I don't remember who it was and I lost the story. To whomever it was, I'm very, very sorry and if you still want me to read your story I'd be glad to. I promise not to lose it this time. Okay, on with the show. The Cure (2/14) Buffy sat in class staring blankly at the pecil she was twirling. "Ms. Summers, could you answer that?" the teacher's voice said. Buffy continued to stare blankly. "Ms. Summers!" the teacher's voice broke into Buffy's thoughts. "Excuse me, what?" Buffy replied, coming back to reality with a jolt. "Ms. Summers, please speak to me after class. And pay attention." Buffy nodded and slumped back in her chair. She payed token attention for the rest of the class. Finally, the bell rang. Buffy sighed and got up. "I'll wait for you," Xander said. Buffy smiled gratefully. "Buffy, I've noticed you haven't been paying attention in class recently. What's going on?" the teacher asked. "I'm really sorry I haven't been paying attention, I've just been dealing with a lot of stuff recently. It's just been kind of overwhelming. I'll try harder to pay attention," Buffy replied. "Okay Buffy, do that. You can go." Buffy gratefully left the room. "You okay Buff?" Xander asked as Buffy came into the hall. She sighed and Xander gave her a hug. "Come on, Giles is waiting for us." *************** The bell jolted Jenny Calendar back to reality. Seh quickly dismissed the class and gathered together all her stuff. When she looked at the doorway, she saw Rupert. her heart sang with joy at the thought that they were going to be friends again. She walked towards him and he walked towards her. "Giles! What's wrong?" Willow asked from behind Jenny. <> Jenny thought, sighing. "Willow, I need you to come with me," Giles said. He and Willow hurried out of the room, not saying a word to Jenny. << Now I *really* have to bring Angel back.>> ************** Willow and Giles were just sitting down as Buffy and Xander came in. "Hi Giles!" Buffy greeted. " Her G-man," Xander said "Hello Buffy, Xander. We have a problem," Giles replied. "Of course we do. We live on the Hellmouth. So, what new delight has the Hellmouth dropped in out laps?" Buffy asked. "Well, it's not the Hellmouth precisely. We all know that Angel has made Buffy his target, and since he wants to hurt her, that makes all of us targets. I need to know who ever invited him into their homes," Giles explained. "No sweat, G-man. I never invited dead-boy in," Xander said. "That's good. What about the two of you?" Giles asked. "Does the word *duh* mean anything to you Giles? Of course I've invited him in. Why?" Buffy responded. "Well, as I'm sure you all realize, a vampire can't come in unless they're invited. Which is a good defense, until they've been invited in because then they can come in whenever they want. So, if Angel is targeting Buffy, being invited into any of our houses gives him a big advantage. But if he's only been invited into Buffy's house, we'll be okay," Giles explained. Willow paled. "Ummmm . . .Giles, I've invited Angel in," Willow said quietly. "You've what?! Oh dear, this really is a problem. How are we going to protect Willow?" ************* As Angel fell asleep he thought <> End part 2 What did you think? This one might be a tad difficult to understand at first, since it takes place ten years into the future, and I’m not telling you what’s happened in advance. I’m going to reveal that as time goes on in the story. I love to get feedback, except when my mailbox explodes, which is often, but send it anyway! My address is Ingrid29@juno.com. If you don’t get this, that’s because you haven’t read the other parts. If you want to get this, ask me for it! ********* "Reunion," by Ingrid Part Four: "Good Morning" ********* It was early the next day when he heard a pounding on the door and practically bolted up in bed. Only Cordelia’s iron grip stopped him. She was holding on tight, the way she always had and probably always would. Cordelia was the type that wouldn’t let you get away, he thought. Not that he wanted to. He shook her a little by the shoulder, and she simply shifted in closer, mumbling something about not wanting to wake the Latin people. "Cordy." "What? Too early. Talk later. Sleep now." She turned over again. The pounding grew louder. It seemed to be shaking the house. "Forget it. I’ll let her in." He artfully slipped out of her arms and grabbed his bathrobe on the way out. Padding out into the living room, he turned on the coffee maker and crossed again to open the door. A thirteen-year old girl stood outside the door, looking way too worried for a thirteen-year old girl. It was hard to believe her capable of creating such a racket. She was scrawny, with a head that seemed too large for her tiny neck. "Hi, Corin." "Hi, Mr. Harris." Her voice was quiet, and barely audible. He had to strain to keep from rolling his eyes. "Come on in." He paused, wondering if he should even bother. He decided to try, anyway. "Corin?" "Yes?" "You can call us by our first names, you know." "Okay, Mr.… uhh… Xander, then," she chirped. A sparrow, that’s what she was, he thought. "Catching on." He smiled, and she simply stood there with a serious expression on her face. He wondered if she’d even caught the sarcasm in his voice. Probably. She was genius intellectually, but her non-existent sense of humor really frightened him. She faced everything with a permanent gravity that seemed as fixed a part of her face as her eyes or her mouth. "Cordelia is asleep, but I guess I didn’t need to tell you that, did I?" She remained silent. "Okay. Just hold on. You can get yourself something to eat or drink. You know where everything is, right?" She nodded, but didn’t make a move. Before returning to the bedroom, he glanced backwards to see her awkwardly standing in the middle of the living room. She was sweet, but everything that girl did was awkward. It was hard to believe she could be a vampire slayer. *** He rushed to Cordelia’s side when he saw her twisted form on the bed. She was tangled in the sheets, writhing in pain. Her eyes were closed, but her face was a mask of grief. Her statuesque figure disappeared, and in an instant she was small and weak. Endeavoring to end her unknown suffering, he shook her gently. "Cordelia," he whispered, even as his heart constricted. Just a dream, he reminded himself, and her eyes fluttered open. "Xander?" She looked confused, as if she didn’t believe he was standing in front of her. "Cordelia, Corin’s here." "What?" "She’s here. She just got here. Are you okay?" "I don’t know," she replied, holding her head. "I think I just had one of the dreams." She sat still for a moment. "It was like the dream Corin described, but somehow different." "How?" "It was worse." *** END, PART 4. Comments? Questions? Write to me at Ingrid29@juno.com. Ingrid: Author of many long Buffyfics (and some short ones).
