I don't have access to DGO, but www.Stocktables.com has their own EPS and RS (which is the closest I can find to the real thing) and lists them as 84 and 90. Last close was up 188% on avg volume. Is this still within reach or is it too extended? Our list is configured to reject large postings (even if they are properly encoded) since the sheer volume has caused problems in the past. As an alternative, we have provided an anonymous ftp site. To provide your file to the group, please follow these instructions: 1. Send your file to: ftp://ftp.xmission.com/pub/users/m/mcjathan/incoming/ If you need some help doing this step, there are ftp instructions below. 2. Send mail to me directly at "owner-canslim@xmission.com" telling me the name of the file that you uploaded. I will move the file from the incoming directory, to the canslim directory where people will be able to download your file. 3. After I notify you that the file has been moved to the canslim directory, you should send an email to the canslim group describing your file, and its URL (i.e. ftp://ftp.xmission.com/pub/users/m/mcjathan/GreatBoom.gif). Although this may seem unwieldy at first, it really isn't too bad and it solves more problems than it creates. You should note that I do not monitor my email on the weekends as closely as during the week. Therefore, steps 2-3 may take longer over a weekend. Best Regards, Jeff Salisbury =========================================================================== FTP Instructions: 1. Using Netscape, go to the URL: ftp://ftp.xmission.com/pub/users/m/mcjathan/incoming/ 2. On the Netscape "File" menu, select "Upload File..." This will open a file selection widget on your hard-drive. Select the file you wish to upload and hit the "Ok" button. At this point, your file will be uploaded. 3. Eventhough your file has been uploaded, you will not be able to see the file in your netscape browser. The reason for this is that the "incoming" directory is set to write-only for security reasons. - - ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 03 Jan 2001 01:30:22 -0800 From: 42410@mcd.alcatel.be Subject: Internet Marketing Group - COMMERCIAL E-MAIL - DATABASE PRODUCTION 11428 Internet Marketing Group (IMG) provides a variety of "Internet Marketing Services". I would have made the pivot at 21.5 (nearest 1/4 point to it's close of 21.25). However, this move and the next couple of days weren't on sufficient volume to warrant a buy. Then on Friday, off we go. If you use my closing-based pivot and 5% as a limit, you could buy up to 22.5. It went way beyond that on Friday, but fell almost back into range on much lower volume today (what's 1/8 between friends?). The RS was at a new high on Friday, so this is also bullish. Overall this one looks pretty good and may be worth a shot. However, given today's M, I'm not sure I would be too quick to buy anything. At this point, I have 2 positions, and one more day of weakness will probably knock me out of one of them. The NASDAQ took out it's low again today, so it looks bad for M. I'd appreciate it, though, if participants could deal with them again, if such is the case. I've known about the canslim approach for a few years now and have also been an IBD subscriber for a few years. I haven't always been consistent in my approach, though, and I have not always had time to follow appropriate trends closely. My wife has recently become more interested in all of this, however, and she would be able to be more consistent than me once she grows into the basics and all. Additionally, the new tools in IBD and via internet are helping us find factors such as institutional support and growth rates and the like. One area in which I have had trouble is discovering the kind of strong stocks canslim advocates while they are forming their bases. During that time, they are usually not in the news and graphic highlights. By the time I discover them (via news and all) they have already moved past their pivot points. How do others find the right stocks to monitor while they are in the base stage? What are some good candidates to follow in the current market? O'Neill states up front that a bear market is no time to be buying; rather, it provides the opportunity to research and be ready for the coming bull. Do you all follow this advice? Why or why not? I look forward to the sharing of ideas on this forum. Thanks in advance.
