Along with additional data items, the new version of Daily Graphs Online features three years of annual EPS data, including two years of estimates, provided by ThomsonFN.com. You can visit Thomson Financial at its home page http://www.firstcall.com as they are a global provider of data, analysis and information for the investment community. The old version DGO 4.0 uses estimate data that is maintained in the William O'Neil + Co. database. We believe the ability to provide industry-leading Thompson Financial estimates is a major enhancement to our program. Additionally, the three years of data from Thomson Financial - their last year's reported EPS, this year's EPS estimate and next year's EPS estimate - occasionally does not match in terms of Estimate Percentage Change from what you see. The estimate percentage change is based on Thomson Financial's last year reported EPS which is not displayed in the Daily Graphs 7-Year Annual Earnings Per Share area. The current EPS numbers are our own in-house numbers. In reference specifically to First Call and Thomson Financial figures that you see, they tend to follow what is generally referred to as "Street" figures or "Wall Street" estimates that also exclude certain non-recurring items. Sometimes items that qualify for exclusion in "Street" terms do not fit in the William O'Neil and Company Research Department earnings modeling rules. Thus the difference between the reported William O'Neil figure you see in Fiscal 2001 and the corresponding percentage change for the Fiscal 2002 EPS estimate. How does every one else sort through there DGO watch list? One chart at a time using DGO and looking at the earnings ect or placing the info manually into excel spread sheet or? I been using Ameritrade Advance Analyzer for the last month for it capability of weeding out stocks that do not met my criteria like # of shares, price, Institutional Holders ect, but the program earnings is not working correctly - which they wrote back to me and said there was a problem with it. How Ameritrade can charge $20 member & $40 non member for faulty data is beyond me. Not sure what other data is bogus. I tried TC2000 but it does not have the capability to compare current earning with 1 Quarter ago and some other features that I need which they do not offer. If any one could give some advice on tools they use I would really appreciate it. I spent mega time the last couple of months in trying to figuring out a system in finding and sorting out stocks without making it into a second job. Even though I do enjoy it, but would like to spend more time fishing (not for stocks). I keep the list, among other places, at FreeRealTime. At the end of the day, I review the list for any price moves of 5% or more, as well as high volume, then look at those charts at DGO. I also check the ones I actually own on a daily basis at DGO. Weekly, I go thru the entire list. I also keep the list at Yahoo, and daily check for news. Those that report earnings are reviewed, again at DGO, against their sequential and year ago results, as well as checking the chart. - ----- Original Message ----- From: "Marty" To: Sent: Saturday, May 18, 2002 7:33 PM Subject: Re: [CANSLIM] New using DGO I sent a message to support and I'll let you know what there response is. Find the item called "Printed Product Report" and click. Click on DG Company Index. This produces a report containing 2,808 companies. Now, download to Excell. Using the filters you can now manipulate most of the column headings to produce your screen. Following the close on Friday, and available to you Saturday and Sunday, they include the Industry Groups. For example, I screen for Industry Groups equal to and greater than 75. See if this doesn't get you close to where you want to go. How can I locate it on-line? I'm impressed with the quality of communications on this site, helpful people etc. Who's the owner? Hope I can add value in the near future.
