I'm not Katherine, but might be able to help you get unsuck. If you downloaded one of the .xls files, use Microsoft Excel to open them. >        =   =20 In order to make it to the list, the stock had to have a forward = growth rate=20 of at least 15%, Price at least 6, Avg Daily Vol at least 30K, RS at = least 60,=20 no more than 15% below the 50 day SMA, and at or above the 200 day = SMA. This=20 is what I consider to be "bare bones" requirements for CANSLIM quality = stocks.Other information included is industry name (slightly different = than=20 DGO's names, but close enough!), price, avg vol, and links to graphs = and due=20 diligence sites on the internet. This month I've also added links to = Mike's=20 cwhcharts for each stock which displays U/D volume, RS Rank, = Comparative RS=20 vs. SPX and=20 = more.

>    &= nbsp;     =20 This month there are 371 names, up 39 names from the list I posted = last month.=20 This month, 102 names fell from the list, a whopping 230 new names = came on=20 board and 141 names are repeats. Since the rotation was pretty fierce, = I've=20 also included some summaries by sector to show you where the names = fall. It's=20 an encouraging sign that money seems to be flowing out of defensive = names such=20 as REITS (32% of names dropped were from this sector) and Mining (6% = of names=20 dropped) and into growth areas such as Healthcare (14% of names on = this=20 month's list). Retail, another common sector for CANSLIM growth = candidates, is=20 well represented with 9% of this month's names. With a follow-through = day=20 under our belts, decent action in recent breakouts and a list of = hunting=20 candidates composed of less defensive names, it's an encouraging sign = that we=20 may be in for an intermediate term rally of some consequence. It's = still a=20 jungle out there....be sure to honor all your buy *and*=20 = sell

If the pattern is cup without a handle, then the pivot would be the left hand side of the cup, 6/14 and $84.60, but either way, the volume has not been great at either breakout point. Market Bottom Canslimmers: Most are familiar with WON and IBD's belief that FT days have occurred (and the mkt. bottom may or may have been reached). I subscribe to another stockmarket E-mail forum called HGS. Most of the times they speak in HGS-speak (which I'm not familiar with), but sometime there really is "gold in them thar hills." The HGS of 10/11 was one of those times. One of the members of the group pointed out an interesting article regarding how to identify a market bottom. I believe many in this group would find it useful as a nice supplement to WON's definition of an FT day: The address is: http://www.mta.org/pdf/2002DowAward.pdf jans - - - -To subscribe/unsubscribe, email "majordomo@xmission.com" - -In the email body, write "subscribe canslim" or - -"unsubscribe canslim".
