FWIW, Frank Wolynski - - ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 1 Nov 1998 08:06:29 -0500 From: "Tom Worley" Subject: [CANSLIM] DG new highs Of Wm O'Neil's Daily Graphs books, last week of those with an RS of 80 or better 136 hit new highs. And of these 56 also had an EPS of 80 or better. The culled list (in DG, new high last week, both RS and EPS 80 or better) follows: BMET, WWIN, BOOL, MVSN, ABH, MCCO, CTSH, BDY, MHP, ICUI, PPDI, NDN, CSGS, CRDT, STB, GILTF, FCBK, GENZ, ALSI, NCOG, KR, USM, ORLY, FNC, INTV, WPI, FLEX, FRE, METZ, SCH, NLCS, EMC, JWA, SUNW, FNM, CEFT, IBM, UFS, APCC, CPN, OKEN, ESRX, SWY, CDWC, RMCI, BELFB, JWB, PDCO, WAT, SEIC, SDG, LIFE, FMY, CTL, NOKA, AEH. Most of these are priced over the mid $20s, and I did not examine the charts. Of the ones I did look at, most were extended, a few looked to be consolidating but the base was too short. One I may add to my watch list is CTSH. I also found WWIN most interesting, 12.2 million shares issued, but a float of only 2.3 million, and 40% of that already owned by funds. Obviously tightly controlled, and no insider selling being reported despite management owning 80% of the issue. Despite the tiny liquid float, still trading good avg daily volume. Since I started posting these lists from DGO, I have had virtually no feedback. It seems that I am the only one that finds them useful, so this will be the last one I post. The group seems to be getting enough lists already, from other sources and computer scans, so it appears this one is redundant. I don't care to risk my contract with DGO if no one finds it useful. I've found that most of the stocks already had my attention through other screening methods, however there seems to be one or two that are new to my scrutiny. Your perspective and the fact that they were caught in your particular "field of view" is imho the "Gold Nugget", not the fact that they showed up in the DG book. Many others do too I'm sure. Since I received little and mostly no feedback regarding the 1Week and 4Week performance postings, I dropped them. Only to receive requests for them. They are not difficult to generate, since I already do the report weekly anyway. So I've started them up again. They don't mean something to everyone however, just some. If it helps the formulation of a individualized strategy, I'm glad to have assisted. Thanks for your contributions Tom. "Golden Nuggets" on this financial journey.
