It all depends on what your horizon is. Since I am forced out of virtually all my holdings by my stop loss rules within months, I don't care what the projection is. What I care about is 118% EPS growth, 39% top line growth, and accelerating earnings and sales. Not too bad for a wholesaler, eh? And don't rely on Yahoo for projections. Their data is woefully incomplete. And I suspect the Telescan projection above is also totally inaccurate/out of date. I don't think anyone is forecasting a downturn in the computer systems business anytime soon. The latest yearly gain of 75% was sharply higher than the five year average of 39%. If first quarter results show the current trend continuing, or increasing, analysts are likely to race to up their forecasts. SHFL: EPS 97, RS: 88 Shares: 7.2 Million, Funds own 11% Avg. Volume: 74,800 SHFL new 52-week high on almost double volume. Looks like it's finishing up a cup with handle. Right side of cup occuring end of July at 17 1/2 and a handle with the stock drifting down to 14. Funny thing is that I bought it when it was at 17 1/2 and didn't get around to selling it. (I don't really stick that closely to the 8-10% rule. When I do, the stock shoots up right after I sell, when I don't, it just sits there. Go figure.) I told my mom and she's a trader - looks for a stock trading in a channel and buys/sells in the channel. She's made quite a bit with SHFL boucing between 14 and 16.
