The 14 tooth is better off road, but only needed if you want a bit more downhill engine braking. It makes the bike a bit buzzy on the road. The 13 tooth would only be needed for extreme off road, and not too usable on road. Please remember to clip all except the pertinent part from the message you respond to. This is my first post here-----I haven't even been lurking. But anyway I just purchased my DRZ400S (Street Legal Model) today and will take possesion tomorrow!!!! Boy did I make a few people mad that were hoping to get the first one to the showroom floor!!! I just happened to be in the shop when the truck called and said they were delivering a Hyabusa and a duaslport tomorrow (Friday)-------I said "it's mine". Here's the money. Come to Daddy!!!! "The Hyabusa???" Heck No----"The Dualsport"!!! I'm not new to DR's at all-----I tried to wear out 2 ( a 1990 and 1991) and just couldn't get the job done. Well I had a short stint with an XR, and can't wait to try out the new Suzuki!!! I do have a "Strictly Dirt" bike which I will use for the extreme rides----not that the Suzuki won't be up to the task, but I am planning on doing a lot of backroading and milder trial riding with this bike and not put it to the abuse of my Knobby tired rip-em up bike!! I will be doing quite a bit of 2-up with it. My wife is tiny--- 4'8". Can't hardly tell she's there. I have question----which may be a bit to early for anyone to answer since this bike is so new. I am going to the higher elevations of Colorado this summer again. I will be taking my Transalp and the new Suzuki with me. Anybody tried High elevations (11,000 ft.) yet??????? With stock jetting????? I have had to always jet my previous dirt bikes---but I do beleive the new Suzuki will have a constant velocity carburator and may handle the high elevations a little better????? Any help would be appreciated!! Thanks!! Mark Sampson didi@mvn.net - - to unsubscribe to dr, send an email to "majordomo@xmission.com" with "unsubscribe dr" in the body of the message.
