A quick check of the Michelin tire fitment guide at shows that the original equipment size is 120/80T18. The 130/90-18 doesn't sound right. There are a couple different measurement systems floating around. The above tires have a 120 mm cross-section with an 80% aspect ratio. There are some others sizes that appear to be normalized to 100% aspect ratio. Weird... I guess if you can mount it, and it doesn't rub anything, you have the right tire! In this case the tire carcass measures 110 mm wide. The actual width of the tread on this tire is 130 mm (this may vary on 100% aspect ratio tires depending on how far the outside row of knobs/tread extends beyond the body of the tire). I would like to know if putting a tire 120/80 instead of 110/90 (original size), the bike will lose speed or acceleration (more weight ,more surface in contact with the floor). Will some difference be notice= d in yield? So if you take a tire that is 120 wide and 80 % tall that means it is 96 millimeter tall. if it is 110 mm. wide and 90 % tall that is 99 millimeter. So to answer your question if it is the same pattern of knobs or surface = the 110 is a bit taller than the 120 , which means the 110 provides slightly = less acceleration and more top speed ( if the bike can rev over 7000 RPM in 6t= h gear ?) and the 120 which is slightly shorter would provide quicker acceleration = and less top speed. Again, in the DR's case may be more top end RPM in 6th g= ear. I would say barely noticeable difference, 3 millimeter on top and bottom= , it is just like wearing down your tire from new to used , do you notice any difference? George Pablo wrote: > Hello.
