OPER CHANNEL: ------------ There are currently 2 main channels for opers and admins. #Outerlimits - This is the main oper 'hangout'. It is a public channel where users may come to ask questions or inform us of problems. It is to remain +nt only. Since it IS a public forum, anything that should not be general knowledge should not be discussed unless it is via msg to only ops (/wall in most scripts). To gain op access in #outerlimits you should first register your nick with Q via "/msg Q register apasswordyoucanremember", then you can ask Mark-ATL, Dalby or WorkOut to add you. #Opers - This channel is limited to opers/admins only. It is #stin but once you oper yourself you will be able to enter. Discussions that should not be seen by users should be taken here. This is also the official 'argument' channel.=20 SERVICES: -------- Server admins can request telnet access to Pulsar by sending email to either dalby (dalby@galaxynet.org) or Mark-ATL (mark@galaxynet.org). There are many parts to the entire services package. Q (channel services), Pulsar (oper services), NickServ and MemoServ. SuperNova is our backup services that is being written from the ground up in C. WALLOPS: ------- Wallops shall be restricted to important messages only. This would include "xyz server will be restarting or will be down for x hours, clones detected on xyz server is there an oper from that server online". Wallops shall not be used for general conversation, that's what channels are for. GLOBAL MESSAGES: --------------- Global msgs (/msg $*.org) are greatly frowned upon and should only be used when absolutely necessary to inform all users of some problem with the network or services. Inappropriate use will be reviewed by the network committee. -- So far, I've only seen Rakoth, Ryo, and Cat show up once in a while.. ;> _ - _ - _ - _ - _ - _ - _ - _ - _ - _ - _ - _ - _ - _ - _ - _ | -FireMyst | DC.D f+ s(RL VR++) h++ CR a m++ d++ | | | WL++* Fr+++ L550c BF e! i++ U- | > _ - _ - _ - _ - _ - _ - _ - _ - _ - _ - _ - _ - _ - _ - _ < | FireMyst's Lair: http://www.xmission.com/~dragon | - _ - _ - _ - _ - _ - _ - _ - _ - _ - _ - _ - _ - _ - _ - _ -
