From: Jeff Salisbury Subject: [effortless] Travel Plans for Oct 13 Quarterly Workshop Date: 05 Sep 2000 22:41:09 -0600 Hello Everyone, I'm getting ready to make travel plans for our Oct 13 quarterly meeting. I'm deciding if I am going to stay over Friday night after our meeting is done. If no one else is sticking around to talk, I'll probably fly home Friday night. However, if many of you will be staying over Friday night, I'll probably stay to talk and learn. What are each of your plans? When developing Strategic alliances with CPAs and others, is it best to allow THEM the position of financial planner/quarterback, while I take on a more narrow role (i.e. investment manager, estate planner, insurance planner, pension manager, etc.). -In Section 9, there is a letter to contact hot-prospects for an initial sales meeting. Is there a letter to contact prospects for research interview? -In many of the CPA strategic alliance letters, you refer to enclosed brochures and marketing materials. Yet, on the tapes, you mention NOT to put any stuff like this in with the letters. Am I missing something here? -Where can I learn more about pension plan liabilities, and the solutions we can provide that are mentioned in the "Sample Letter to CPA's clients"? -How would Estate Planning attorney's concerns differ from the 5 researched concerns of CPAs? -In my first CPA meeting, the CPA quickly dove right in and started to ask a lot of questions about our firm. Beore I realized it, we have used up 15-20 minutes. Can you suggest a way I can gracefully deflect and stop the questioning about my firm without appearing evasive or suspicious? -What would be a good way to followup/stay-in-contact with interviewees? Invite them to seminars? Send newsletters? Other? -What do you think of joining local Chamber of Commerces? Do you have any tips for leveraging chamber membership into relationships, interviews, etc.? Date: 28 Sep 2000 17:38:20 -0600 Laura, After the coaching call yesterday, a few of us stayed on the line and chatted for another hour. I found it to be very useful. I'm now wondering if we can use the Moeller telecon lines for informal get-togethers. Can we do that without you incurina any additional expenses?
