From: Njoythjrny@aol.com Subject: [effortless] re fee schedule Date: 02 Nov 2000 09:17:53 EST I am trying to put together a fee schedule - first blush is 250k - 499k 1.5% costs client $3750 - 7485 per year 500k - 999k 1.25% 6250 - 12,487 per year 1m - 1.49m 1.0% 10,000 - 15,000 1.5m - 2.5m .80% 12,000 - 20,000 2.5m - 5m .60 15,000 - 30,000 over 5m .50 Does this seem right? They get a break as each step goes up? What is your schedule? Are there too many breakpoints? Am I overthinking this and is it just in my mind whether break points are impt? Perhaps there are too many breakpoints. You may consider for discussion purposes with the cleint say that anything over 1 million i s negotiable or somehting like that. Obviously you cannot put that in your ADV. My schedule is 1.5 to 500, 1.25 500- 1mill and bewteen .75 and 1 for over 1 million. Just finished my seminar. About 30 people. Looks like we will have a large percentage for meetings.Talk to you next week. I am leaving for Las Vegas in about 2 hrs.and plan to relax for a couple of days. ----- Original Message ----- Sent: Thursday, November 02, 2000 8:17 AM > I am trying to put together a fee schedule - first blush is > > 250k - 499k 1.5% costs client $3750 - 7485 per year > 500k - 999k 1.25% 6250 - 12,487 per > year > 1m - 1.49m 1.0% 10,000 - 15,000 > 1.5m - 2.5m .80% 12,000 - 20,000 > 2.5m - 5m .60 15,000 - 30,000 > over 5m .50 > > Does this seem right? Do you see in the future, or are you currently, picking up the freight for the ancilary costs of doing business out of the money management fee? This would be viewed by the NASD as sharing commissions. Furthermore, although I believe that fees will be squeezed at some point in the future and planning for this is prudent, we have a ways to go before that becomes a problem. Focus on your value-added, you are putting way too much thought into this fee thing.
