From: Gideon Burton Subject: [irr-ed] Poetry issue of Irreantum? Date: 30 Oct 2001 16:32:07 -0700 I was thinking we might do an issue on poetry, or at least one that features an interview with a poet. Lance Larsen has had some good national recognition and expressed interest to me in having some of his poetry that he read at AML two years ago published by AML. He is also the subject of at least two critical essays I am aware of that we could run alongside an interview and some of his poetry. Of course, there are many other LDS poets we could feature, too. Harlow (and the rest) --what do you think? I'll circulate those essays to those interested. Date: 30 Oct 2001 16:40:04 -0700 One of my personal failings is that I don't like poetry at all. Right or = wrong, it's just one of those things I've chosen to almost completely = black out of my life (the other main one is television). However, I = wouldn't stand in the way of a poetry-heavy issue, and in fact I admit = it's the responsible thing to do at some point. Does this attitude make me = a hopelessly terrestrial person? Some of you will have stuff that got bounced from the fall = England issue that can go in the winter issue, so we'll be contacting you = about that in the next few weeks. Thanks everybody! Let's keep in better touch. -- Irreantum Editor's Discussion List
