One of the new features for the new Irreantum is a section called Readers Write. We publish a given topic and invite readers to write a mini essay on it. These essays will be published in the next issue. For the first issue we want to ask former members of the Irreantum staff to participate. Both recent and not-so-recent staff would be welcome to write something. Would you consider sending the following to your staff members? You, of course, are especially invited to participate. Thanks --Laraine "Beginnings. Everyone's had at least one. And many of us like to think of ourselves as having many--a marriage, a divorce, a graduation, a conversion, an illness, a healing, a new idea, a promotion, a new car, a brand new child. Each narrative, each poem, each song or play or film has a beginning which, one could argue, constrains and enables the middle and end...if there is an ending, which is perhaps just another portal--and another beginning--to something else. Sort of like our lives. And sort of not. In honor of the beginning of the new AML journal, tell us about your beginning(s) and consider what it might mean to construct something as a starting." 500-800 words. We may not be able to publish everything, and we reserve the right to edit. Submissions should be sent to editor@amlpubs.org Please send by August 15, if possible. _________________________________________________________________ Overwhelmed by debt?
