Unfortunately I could not get past the main menu of the CD-ROM. Clicking on various items resulted in nothing happening. By browsing the directories of the CD-ROM directly, I was able to view some movies and hear some sounds after all. I used the CD-ROM on my PC. Judging from some of the movies on it, I think it was made on a Macintosh however. Did anybody experience the same problems, and does anybody know if it works well on a Macintosh? It is fully the work of J M Jarre , and was released **PUBLICLY** at the time of the concert for Tolerence. Do as Jarre says. Sign up for virtual resitance. - ------------------------------------------------- It is urgent that we invade the Internet. We were fascinated, in the 60's, by the conquest of space, by dreams of moving bodily to explore outer-space. The fantasy of space conquest is behind us, science fiction has merged into a retro-vision of the future. Today we are fascinated by cyberspace, by the conquest of virtual space where we no longer need to travel physically but mearly with ideas, images and information, a space in which we become our own extra-terrestrials, a space in where geographical distances and frontiers no longer exist, a space where there is no racism, not even virtual... One possible interpretation for 'Internet' is 'Between Nets'. It is up to us, cybernauts, nomads of the virtual world, grouped travellers driving our ideas at lightening speed, to slip through the net of all these systems which are weaving themselves around us. Sign on for virtual resistance. Invade cyberspace with our ideas, our culture. Convey our language. Expose our ideas. Satellite our words and our music. Let a Greek poem be decoded by a Chinaman from Shanghi, a Matisse painting be admired by an Amazonian, and Edith Piaf song or an Irish Ballad be hummed by an Australian Aborigine. Let us explore and discover the eyes and ears hidden some-where in the cyberworld. They await our arrival without knowing it. Do you mean only music / audio files, or also cd artwork, > photographs and texts? If you don't have obtained the written authorizations from the rights owner(s), you should remove the complete collection of digital sounds concerning J.M. Jarre's works. The authorization of the right owner(s) is evenly necessary for the adaptation of his works. > When reading the letter from Francis Dreyfus Music & Jean-Michel Jarre > to APP which is online at your website, I assume you only mean > music / audio files. > > In the meantime, to avoid any misunderstanding, we have removed > all pictures and audio from our site. I've come up with a plan to confront Jean-Michel directly with the current sh!t going on, and to tell him we're not *too* happy with it.. (and THAT is an understatement, IMO) WHO'S GOING TO LILLE ALSO? Make BANNERS (Text idea's: DON'T KILL INTERNET! FREE OXYGENE! LET YOUR FAN SITES LIVE!, etc.), make a special T-Shirt with the FREE OXYGENE logo, make SIGNS (Just as long as we can get the stuff in!) During the concert we show the banners and whistle! It cannot be ignored by Jean-Michel! If you can, please forward this one to the other JMJlist for me, willya? TIA! # Need help using (or leaving) this mailing list? # Email majordomo@xmission.com with "info jarre" in the message. # Postings must go to jarre@xmission.com -- replies go to original sender. ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 8 Oct 1997 08:39:20 -0600 (CST) From: Rodolfo Gonzalez Gonzalez Subject: (jarre) Re: Good news: onlys sounds affected! Great!.. so, we can have the CD covers, Jarre's photos and other graphical stuff on our sites?. Well, then I'll restart "Le Former Maitre" later, without sound files. Thanks smart Bart... Rodolfo, former LeMaitre. P.S. All pictures are online again. The soundfiles have been removed in respect to Jean-Michel's opinion. We are disappointment with the attitude of Jean-Michel Jarre, especially because of statements he made about the Internet in the past. We will not put audio files online at Galaxie Jarre anymore, but under protest. We will try to get permission to keep the Virtual Laser Harp sounds online, because it is liked by so many Jarre fans around the world. If we do not succeed in getting permission, we already have an idea for a workaround.
