This is what I can remember: It was available shortly before the KLF split in 1991 for 2 pounds in a sort of raffle - i.e. people sent along 2 pounds to the KLF, and the lucky winners received the single (I was one of them), with the others having their cheques returned. There were 1,000 pressed of the original black vinyl of the single, but there were coloured vinyl versions available as well: From Lazlo's discography: The KLF with Extreme Noise Terror: 3 a.m. Eternal [1992] limited single 7"WL: 1992 UK (KLF Communications; KLF 5TOTP) [1-sided; x1000 mailorder only] 7"WL: 1992 UK (KLF Communications; KLF 5TOTP) [test pressing] 7"WL: 1992 UK (KLF Communications; KLF 5TOTP) [clear vinyl] 7"WL: 1992 UK (KLF Communications; KLF 5TOTP) [mustard vinyl] 7": 1993 UK (Discipline; 3AM1) [2xA] 12": 199? JP (Discipline; DISC2T) [bootleg] 2:43 3 a.m. Eternal ["E.N.T. K.L.F. 3 A.M. ETERNAL CHRISTMAS TOP OF THE POPS 1991". It has been reported that the 3AM1 pressing is not a bootleg but was actually pressed by The KLF and given to ENT in payment for their share of the collaboration.] The single, itself, was recorded with 'Extreme Noise Terror' (collaborators on the unreleased 'Black Room' album), and was due to be performed live at the Christmas 1991 'Top Of The Pops', but the BBC refused. Instead, they played it live at the Brit Awards, with Bill firing blanks from his machine gun into the astonised audience! Check out the link http://klf.life.eu.org/Press/1992-02-29.NME.2.txt for more details... One quick question, however... Are any of the coloured vinyls bootlegs or are they legit?? Hope this helps, Nick King ;-) > -----Original Message----- > From: owner-klf@lists.xmission.com > [mailto:owner-klf@lists.xmission.com]On Behalf Of alan hamilton > Sent: 13 January 2001 15:07 > To: klf@xmission.com > Subject: (klf) 3 am Eternal TOTP > > > > Any one heard of a one sided 7 inch single of 3am > Eternal, 1991 Xmas top of the pops? If so - is it > worth buying and what is the going rate? A speed metal version of 3am. Beware the 3AM1 catalogue numbered records as these are bootlegs. How much they're worth depends on how much you want to pay and how much of a collector you are. The track has appeared on bootlegs so your money might be better spent on one of those. - -paul Currently in rotation: Pet Shop Boys - custom remix; Utah Saints - Best of (custom); various mp3s Thank you for flying Aeroflot # Need help using (or leaving) this mailing list? # Send the command "info klf" to majordomo@lists.xmission.com. # To post, email klf@lists.xmission.com; replies go to original sender. # KLF discography: http://www.swcp.com/lazlo-bin/discogs?klf ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 17 Jan 2001 17:59:21 +0100 From: "maarten" Subject: (klf) KLF prices....
