Fred found a link, http://www.kisantech.com/ ,so I went and looked, and sure enough he was right when he mentioned they were a little spendy. They're showing a list on the signal minder of $70. After wiping the sweat off my brow, I thanked Fred for his trouble. Of course I really gotta have one. (It looks like a flasher unit outside. The highland is NOT a prototype!! (I know it looks like a prototype on the website http://www.highlandmotors.se/) But it is on sale in Sweden as we speak! The downside is the price... In Sweden it costs about 70% more than as much as a new KLR. (KLR new in Sweden costs about $8000 and the Highland about $13,600.....) I know the gas-tank looks small, but it holds as much as the KLR ( 25 litres) I have read in the Sedish press that the selling of this motorcycle will begin in the US next year. > > Per, > Do you know if this thing exist yet, is it available to the public, or is > it still a prototype? 75 horses sounds pretty nice, though I don't know > how you would get that down on the road with with those knobbies without > killing yourself. Although if its the latter I'm surprised its not leaking out of the overflow hole under the pump housing. You may want to flush the engine with a couple changes of oil to get rid of all the coolant. Dont run the motor until the oil has been changed. Coolant will mix with the oil to form a brownish froth that has zero lubrication quality and will cause you to spin a bearing. If its water alone in the motor, it may have been stored incorrectly. you may not see bubbles immediately. there are plenty of places in the KLR's cooling system that trap small pockets of air. Also the leak may be minor. Cost is generally: $75.00 per bike round trip and $144.00 round trip per person in a cabin (double Occupancy) Other expenses would be your lodging, food, gas, etc. (each person would normally share a room - up to you) If you are interested, (serious) let me know - you might want to join me. I will not take more then three or four as large groups get difficult to work with - let me know if you would like to travel along. Some of the places we might want to visit are: Mayan sites on the Yucatan Palenque Mayan site in Chiapus State Belize and into Guatemala to visit Tikal (Mayan site) Oaxaca and San Cristobal - Colonial Spanish cities in Southern Mexico Let me emphasize that this, in no way, is an organized tour! I am simply going and would be glad to have s few guys (gals?) join me - I am not a tour leader but will gladly provide leadership on the road as I have been here before and know the territory. A KLR is ideal but any street bike will work. I'll be riding a Triumph Tiger.
