Sounds like a blast. I live near a river that has heavily travelled snowmobile trails on it. Could be just too exiting! Anybody know what the law might have to say about studs for street use up here in Ontario,Canada ? I can't help but wonder what the reaction of the local O.P.P. would be to some frosty guy on a KLR screamin' down the road (at the speed limit of course) Wether I am well hooked up or not may not be the actual discussion. Just the fact that I am probably the only bike on the road might just pull these guys out of the donut shop. I know that you cannot stud car tires anymore in Ontario. I think they are legal in Que. though. Any thoughts ? Q: How many men does it take to open a beer? A: None. It should be open by the time she brings it. Q: Why is a Laundromat a really bad place to pick up a woman? A: Because a woman who can't even afford a washing machine will never be able to support you. Q: Why do women have smaller feet than men? A: So they can stand closer to the kitchen sink. Q: How do you know when a woman's about to say something smart? A: When she starts her sentence with "A man once told me..." Q: How do you fix a woman's watch? A: Don't bother. There's a clock on the oven! Q: Why do men pass gas more than women? A: Because women won't shut up long enough to build up pressure. Q: Why were shopping carts invented? A: To teach women to walk on their hind legs. Women are like guns, keep one around long enough and you're going to want to shoot it. Q: If your dog is barking at the back door and your wife is yelling at the front door, who do you let in first? A: The dog, of course.....at least he'll shut up after you let him in. All wives are alike, but they have different faces so you can tell them apart. Q: What's worse than a Male Chauvinist Pig? A: A woman that won't do what she's told. Q: What do you call a blonde with two brain cells? A: Pregnant. I married Miss Right. I just didn't know her first name was Always. Q: What do you call a woman who has lost 95% of her intelligence? A: Divorced. Bigamy is having one wife too many. Some say monogamy is the same. Scientists have discovered a food that diminishes a woman's sex drive by 90%: It`s called wedding cake. Marriage is a 3 ring circus: Engagement ring, wedding ring, and suffering. All in fun folks, no harm intended. My wife e-mailed me this at work today. If the sensor checks out okay, you may want to try putting an adjustable resistance between the sensor lead and ground and try tweaking it to see if you can get teh temp meter to change. If it doesnt chances are its dead, or theres a bad connection somewhere between the sensor and temp meter. R. Kaub wrote: > My bike (A12, 3,500 miles) has had two thermostats this year. I'm thinking that the carb is now empty and I shouldn't have any gunk build-up problems during the winter. Just out of curiosity, I decided to open the drain screw at the bottom of the carb bowl. I just stuck a rag under it expecting that a few drops of gas might come out. Well, quite a bit of gas came out. I would guess that the carb bowl is still about 1/2 full when the engine quits. Don't forget to drain the bowl before parking the bike. Thanks. My friend bought a used car with the same problem. Looked to be the thermostat. He replaced the thermostat; same problem. He had a mechanic buddy look at it. Turns out that the thermostat was installed wrong when he bought it; since he installed the new one the same way, it didn't work either. Sometimes, the obvious things are the ones we overlook. ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 08 Dec 1998 08:14:14 PST From: "Paul Christenson" Subject: Re: (klr650) Carburetor/Storage >For those of us who have to store our bikes until spring: [...] >Don't forget to drain the bowl before parking the bike. When I loved back east (where 35 degrees on New Years Eve was considered warm), I would use fuel stabilizer instead of draining the carb. I just mixed up 5 gals of stabilized fuel when it became apparent that the mowing was about done, then ran some of that through each engine before parking it. I figured it was worth the few bucks to not have to play with a half dozen engines. It was worth it to be able to go for a (very short!) ride on the occasional bright, sunny, clear-road 20 degree January afternoon. ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 8 Dec 1998 11:49:11 -0800 From: "=?ISO-8859-1?Q?Carlos_Y._Gonz=E1lez?=" Subject: Re: (klr650) (KLR):Slow Speeds - ---------- > From: MRatta@ADE.com > To: klr650@lists.xmission.com > Subject: RE: (klr650) (KLR):Slow Speeds > Date: Tuesday, December 08, 1998 4:20 AM > > You may have an intake vacuum leak somewhere.. or maybe you've added a pipe > and / or a higher flow air filter and have not adjusted the pilot jet size / > pilot screw settings? > > It seem that my KLR is very "jerky" at 25mph and below. The KLR, like most thumpers tend to be geared pretty low, causing some of this jerkiness when you get on and off the throttle at low speeds. Of course if the bike is jerking under constant throttle settings then you could have some sort of fuel starvation problem.
