If you know of a storage facility with 24 hr access could you please forward their phone number & address to me direct so as not to clutter the list(s). The last time I rode to Mexico the only place I found open on a Sunday in Nashville to leave the truck was the airport Park'n'Fly. big $'s Also, what kind of weather can we expect in South Texas mid Dec & Jan? My average speed while riding an event is a little over 50 mph. This includes time for rest and meals. I keep up with traffic while on the road but never go above 80 mph, even if traffic exceeds that speed. I don't feel I have endangered anyone and know of no example, in millions of documented miles, of a non-ralliest being injured in an Iron Butt event. These are very serious and responsible riders. << You are the exception, my friend. Talking with my friend Jim, he himself admitted he was well beyond the edge most of the time. He recounted at one point where he met a friend at his home along the route. He dismounted his bike, sat down in a chair while dinner was being prepared and was asleep within seconds and slept for almost 8 hours in that chair. Also told me that, he would sometimes look down at his tripmeter to see that 40+ miles had passed and he couldn't remember any of it. He said this was more the norm for IB riders than the exception.
