topics. I must say however, this time you've jumped the Big Gun. What's
wrong with an argument?? Info rather than opinion?? I want both. I love the
action; my fingers, as of yet, are not so arthritic that I can't press my
delete button. So what if 50 thin-skinned wooses quit the list?? Good
riddance. I'll take obnoxious over boring any day. The character of the

Thanks much for the correction!  The way the article reads, it makes it seem
as though the C-6 was a replacement for the A-14.  But it had changed a lot
of the good things about the KLR, eg big tank, long suspension, windscreen.
I thought it odd that they would want to change something that was so
well-rounded and sold so well.  Thanks again.

Hello Arne and to all on THE LIST,

I am a new KLR owner and new to the list as of 2 weeks ago.  I joined 
thinking this may be a way to learn more about the KLR650, hear about 
organized rides, meet people, and possibly make some contributions myself 
once I became more knowledgeable.  I thought this might be a KLR650 "club".

Until I read Stephanie's and then Arne's responses, I must admit that, the 
bantering about roadless areas (sometimes comprising the majority of the 
entries) had given me the perception that many people are using this list to 
promote organized self-interest activities that are not much related to a 
KLR650 "club".  

As one of the new participants, I do not think I am entitled to an opinion on 
how the list members should conduct themselves.  But I wanted to express to 
you all the perception you have given me as "an outsider looking in".

I put a rear 4.50 on my DR350 and did a 1200+ mile trip into Arkansas to
do some of the TAT Trail thru there.. The tire was great in the road and
really did well in the gravel and dirt roads I was on..  Wear is
great...    A few weeks back  I put the 3.25  Kenda on the front and it
does seems to do the loose gravel I have to ride in down here better
than the 3.00  tire did .. It does pick the bike up a little but not
bad..  The only really thing is they do howl at ya till wind noise takes
over.. ha ha ha   But ear plugs take care of that..

I don't see why these wouldn't work on the KLR..

             I have used the Kenda 270 tire on my DR 600. I found them =
to be great off-road tires with a lot of traction in mud and sand. But =
the down fall to these tires are the fact that they are noisy on hot =
pavement or street use. Also they wear very fast. I went through a set =
of tires in one season of riding.
If you spend most of your time off-road great, but if you like all round =
riding and most of your time is spent touring the street. I found the =
Bridgestones to be the best of both worlds.
