Again, I'm not bashing the topic or message content of each new post, but when we contribute to a thread, for the benefit of our digest users, we need to snip. Thanks all. Do you favor tighter restrictions on off-road vehicles in national park and forest areas? * 14827 responses Yes 26% No 73% Can't decide 0% I'm a little surprised at the margins in these polls. But pleased. Allow me to introduce myself to the list. I took the MSF course back in July of 99 (that already sounds a little nostalgic :-)) and bought a Y2KLR (first bike) in September after talking to an experienced rider friend at work and reading this list and everything else about motorcycling that I came across for several months. I have just this weekend reached 500 miles and time for the first service. I gave up a lot of beautiful fall weekends building a shed, mostly to house the bike. But I saved a bundle ( maybe $5) and purchased sheds aren't built like this one (they're square). Just wanted to say 'hi' and let everyone know what a great list you've got going here. I enjoy it all, but as a technical resource, it's matchless. Looking forward to trying some of the mods y'all recommend. So far, I've moved my license plate up and put on a Dualstar centerstand. I'm thinking safety/protection/comfort first. It will be a while (maybe never, it seems like) before I'm pushing the limits of the stock bike. I was a little surprised at Dualstar's installation instructions, but I followed them. I sort of expected them to recommend loctite on the bolts.
