I have experienced this after "small' crashes. However, if you wish to check to see if the fork tubes are bent you must remove them and roll them on a glass table. I think you ned to loosen the pinch bolts that hold the clamps and tubes aligned, or misaligned, in your case, and them clamp the front wheel in something, or against a wall as someone suggested, and then wiggle the triple clamps back and forth, tightening it up from the bottom to the top while holding the wheel centered in relation to the handlebar. Clamping the wheel in something like a floor mounted groove made out of blocks is going to work better that holding the wheel against a wall, Good luck! > My front wheel is rotated about 10 deg to the right. The quality and security appear excellent. It can only fit one full-face plus gloves, but my backpack fits in it perfectly for the morning commute. Suddenly my bike has taken a whole new perspective as a practical commuter.... This raises a beef I have with dealers...why don't they carry more of this stuff in stock? I ask the local dealer about panniers or hard bags or something, and they say, "Sure, we can order it." Sheesh, I can order it myself. I go to the dealer so I can buy it NOW. I'll pay a few extra bucks in the shop to avoid the hassle of ordering and waiting..... - -Matt Gainesville, FL A12 5K Visit the KLR650 archives at http://www.listquest.com/lq/search.html?ln=klr650 Support Dual Sport News... dsneditor@softhome.net To subscribe/unsubscribe send message to majordomo@lists.xmission.com leave subject blank. Don't loosen both the lower and upper triple clamp bolts at the same time. This would be a good way to make a "low rider" out of your bike. Either loosen all the pinch bolts in the lower OR the upper triple clamps but not both. You may have to move the alignment just past being straight so that when it relaxes it will be straight. I usually straddle the front wheel and use my legs to hold the front end while I move the handlebars to where they are straight. Be sure and tighten everything up. It always scares me when someone comes into my shop and says the front end is acting weird and I find the triple clamp bolts are loose. Most dealers will stock what they think they can sell. GiVi is a quality piece of luggage but it takes up alot of valuable floor space and there are so many models and options that it is hard to have exactly what the customer wants. It is easier for me at this time to call the distributor and have exactly what the customer wants shipped directly from the distributor to the customer. This has worked out well for me in the past. If there was some GiVi product that I sold a lot of, then I would have it in stock. Seems very secure to me. You do need the plate that mounts directly to the rear rack of the KLR. Install time is about 10 minutes. A bit pricey, but worth it for me since I have to leave my bike in a parking lot in a "not so nice" part of town. It looks funky, but find I like it better than hard saddle bags because it doesn't increase the width of the bike for lane splitting and wind resistance. Several folks have KLR webpages, there is a KLR web ring also at http://www.webring.org/cgi-bin/webring?ring=klr650;list . Most people put urls in their email signatures, so they are quite easy to find. Bill Haycock developed the www.dualsport.org webpage that contains a lot of info on the KLR. Check these webpages out. I obviously like to rant and rave on this list, because my life just ain't as interesting as it used to be ;) , but you do get tired of the same questions over and over again when the answers to these questions can be found fairly easily. The more frequent the same question is asked, the less likely it is to get answered.
