I put on a pot of coffee, put my feet up, type in a couple of search words and there I am--100 responses to wade through. I could spend an entire day reading through all of it; and much of it is not necessarily relevant. So if I want a quick answer even though it may have been asked many times before I'm gonna ask the assembled masses. That's the long and the short of it. My local bike shops said they didn't exist. Fred was the only one who took an interest in getting a dealer arrangement plus he stocks them. Get them from whomever you'd like. Besides Fred is local to me we both are Utahns...Fred is the lists best friend as you'll one day understand if you desperately need a KLR part. Fred will find it for you and send it to you even if your broke down in a foreign country. He's done it for several of us already. Have any local bike shops that will do that? Nobody asked a stupid question. Eric's message was not to deter someone from posting a question, or to berate the new posters, as Stu said, new answers and fresh perspectives are well... refreshing. What Eric's point was, was that he hoped that people were not wasting a valuable resourse in the various web sites and archives, as he doesn't always have the time or feel like responding to re-peat questions. Who was the "individual" you are referring to? Eric's original message was addressed to "Ladies and Gentlemen", and did not single anyone out specifically. It was valuable to everyone, myself included, as this list is made up of over 450 individuals... all of whom need reminding once in awhile. "Nuff said... let's move on. A "repeat" question may be a pain to someone who has seen it a dozen times, but it could be a lifesaver to a newbie who may not even know what he/she does not know. How can you lookup something in the archive when you don't know you don't know. I've seen plenty of newbie questions that were answered in the archive, but I hadn't thought to look for, and may not have until I learned the hard way. As for the old f**t comments, I kind of like to know the people I'm taking advise from. The comments and banter helps me learn a little about the people on the List. Plus, who doesn't need a chuckle now and then.
