The thing that has kept me from Aerostitch suits and jackets is that they are popular in the mainstream. I just have to be a bit different. It too is a Ca. model. However, upon reviewing the owners manual, the items that actually determine that the bike IS a Ca. model (asterisks in the manual), are very few. The major item is an anti-evaporative system that keeps fumes from escaping the gas tank. This item only weighs a couple pounds and has no performance impact. So unless your trying to pull Jeremy McGrath lap times around a track somewhere, how about remaining legally compliant and doing your part to preserve the air quality? Remember, it's 75% rider, 25% bike when it comes to performance. I can't count how many "high performance" guys I've flown past on my bone-stock bike on DS rides over the years. More power to you if that's the route you go, but it truly isn't necessary. Patrick __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Talk to your friends online with Yahoo! The Africa Twin is not sold in the U.S., although there are importers who will bring one in for around $10k FOB Miami as long as it is registered as a dirt bike (California won't do it at all, I think). I believe the Twin meets the most of the DOT regulations, except for the those that reference the EPA certification for street bikes. The latter is the expensive item. From what I could gather, people who bring them in register them as an off-road vehicle, then ride them on the street anyway because the registration (at least in Florida) doesn't clearly specify the fact that its an offroad vehicle.
