Hey, guys (and long-legged gals); As one of the short-legged guys on the list I can't say enough about the Quality Engine lowering links I got from Dual Star this p.m. and installed on my A14. Not only can I flat-foot the bike around handily, the low-speed maneauvability has improved to a trials-like level and the high-speed handling feels a lot more stable and secure, possibly from lowering the CG a couple of inches. The bike feels much lighter and even works as well if not better on the trails around where I live. Doughnuts and low-speed sliding around obstacles is made easier, too. I'm kinda an old geezer here, so you've got to remember I'm not trying to get airborn or anything, just do a little peaceful cow trailing without scaring the wildlife (I saw a family of huge white-tails pass on the trail before me, probably ecstatic that they've survived one more year of being shot at by the Citiots with assault rifles). I highly recommend this modification for those of you who aren't intent on motocrossing through the woods. The shortened sidestand is nice, too, gave me an opportunity to remove the silly cable that hooks up to the cutoff switch. As per recommendations from others, I removed the sub fender and put the tag on the green fender right under the taillight. As WV tags are painted with reflective paint I don't think anyone is going to notice I don't run a tag light. True, wallets must get wide sometimes - but me no smile. Parts availability very good for BMW. > Third, This guy is probably crying in his beer as he is about the experience > the lovely world of BMW shaft failure. Paralever good for 45-60K miles, $500 to repair. 3 sets chain and sprockets at $175 each to go 15Kmiles each - about same cost to operate. But crying just the same. I've installed a Kriss Starburst headlight modulator & a Tailgunner running light/brake flasher converter, and just having the wiring diagram made that task easier. Go for em.
