I've had coil problems on a KLE100 and a 600 Bandit and the symtoms are just as you describe - if there's a hint of water e.g. sweat or a full bladder the bike will misfire. You have to replace the coil or waterproof it with silicone. A dealer used an innertube as well as the silicon and I never had another problem. Other complications: Don't know - that is what we need to find out by trying it. Flooding should not occur if the floats work as they are designed. Leaking? Where? My Triumph Tiger uses a simple gravity feed petcock and has none of the flooding or leaking problems. I don't really know if the petcock has been a problem in the past. Just seems like a very vulnerable piece that could cause a major break down on the trail if the diaphragm where to tear or crack. Anyone on the LIST have any problems with this? Maybe it is not worth the effort to solve if it is not a problem to begin with! Bill Arne Larsen wrote: > How about finding a suitable replacement? You can't compare the numbers directly because **tongue capacity** is not the same as **KLR weight**. 400 lbs of KLR perched out on a platform 24 inches behind the bumper far exceeds 400 lbs (of trailer tongue weight) six inches behind the bumper. The two loading scenarios are vastly different. The 24/6 difference is only the tip of the iceberg. Depending on the design of the hitch carrier, there might be significant "roll issues" too as there is no torque passed thru a trailer ball. Be sure to check with the manufacturers of both hitch and carrier. My guess is that you'd want a hitch that is rated for at least 4X the weight of your motorcycle. The manufacturer should know all of this so ask them. After paying for my bike and maintaining it the last thing I'd want to do is hang it off the back of my truck when I could put it in the bed or on a trailer. A low utility trailer should be dead easy to load an unload. If there are other issues I am missing I'd love to hear them.
