A friend told me about http://www.priceline.com You tell them your destination and origin, tell them how much you want to spend, and they search for the cheapest airline tickets for you. You have to give them a credit card number, and I think it takes about an hour to get a response. I haven't tried it myself yet, my friend was looking for airline tickets to fly to Alaska to visit a mutual friend. I'm thinking that it is a long ride from Spokane to NY, so you probably want to fly out and not wear yourself out sitting in a slow bus that stops at every podunk town. BTW, I live in a podunk town about two hours south of Spokane, maybe we could link up. Jeff To subscribe/unsubscribe send message to majordomo@lists.xmission.com leave subject blank. Late one evening our infamous Chris Beck became disoriented in the hills behind their spread. I arrived at their door in the dark, 36 degree weather. I recall chuckling to myself as I hobbled across the wooden front porch toward the only dim lit window for miles. Just having removed a left ankle cast, I musta sounded like frankenstein off a motorcycle. When I got to the door, a voice said 'Come on in!'. There was Jim alone, behind a dinner and wine. This place became our headquarters for the search and rescue effort, till next morning. He even went out with us in his SUV that nite and helped us look. Never new how good Early Times was till that nite. Of course Beck had wandered off. Raced off in 'the opposite direction' thinking we were there. We discovered him intact the next day.........only temporarily humbled from the nite at 34F. So far his sense of humor has outweighed other lackings. Anyway, Songdog is in my backyard, about an hour out. Tell them folks Howdy fer me will ya, we'll seem soon! All for now....... I agree with Jeff here. I upgraded to progressives and did a couple things. ONLY put in 420ml of fork oil into each side. Went from the stock 10W to 15W to help the damping. Left my spacer at it's stock length (even though the progressives were 3/4" longer than the stock springs. I did this to pre-load to the max. I figured that if necessary, I'd trim them down in stages until I was happy with the feel. I've left them where they are as I'm quite satisfied with my front forks now. As Jeff suggests, I do not, and would not encourage running anything other than atmospheric pressure at the risk of popping the seals. >> After following the discussion on rear shock spring replacement and progressives for the forks, I am glad to see Arne has answered my question before I asked it. I was wondering about the possible negative effects of increasing the spring pressure without compensating for the rebound with revalving or something else. My next question is whether stiffening up the front end without matching the rear shock would have a negative effect on the handling. I suppose this can be acheived through the elusive Red spring for the rear shock, or even cranking up the preload on the stocker. Has anyone got one of those heavy duty rear springs on their bike yet? CA Stu To subscribe/unsubscribe send message to majordomo@lists.xmission.com leave subject blank. It stalled several times over several months but would always restart after a minute or so. Finally, it stranded me and would not restart. I connected a new hose to the vacuum nipple and sucked on the end. No fuel came out of the petcock. Therefore, I knew the petcock was clogged. After diassembling the petcock, I found the debris. It appeared to be a piece of gasket. I cleaned everything up and ordered a new vacuum diaphram and everything was fine. Rob: It may be as simple as having a pinched breather hose. A friend recently had the same problem after a valve adjust. Turns out he had pinched the fuel vent hose "just slightly" with the prong on the seat when he reinstalled it. Drove him nuts. It was particularly bad in hot weather.
