Both Frank and I have the last year been working on the idea of taking a group of motorcyclists on a journey that no other tour operators can offer. Frank even went to China to negotiate a deal with the Chinese for our ride in that country. > In short we are in the final stages of realizing the plans to offer a journey that will literally take you around the world by motorcycle. > Not until Frank return from his scouting trip at the end of September will we be able to give you a detailed itinerary and exact price for this extraordinary motorcycle world tour. But already now after a year of research we have come up with a rough itinerary that looks something like this: > Motorcycles has to be in Seattle no later than May 1st 2000 > Container with bikes is shipped to Japan. > We fly to Japan around June 10th 2000 > Approximately 1 week of motorcycle riding in Japan. > Ferry to China w/bikes. > Approximately 2 weeks of motorcycle riding in China. > We will enter Russia and Siberia just East of Lake Bajkal. > >From there we will head due east for the Black Sea. > The tour ends in Munchen, Germany. > To complete the circle you will have to cross the USA by your self or together with other members of the group. > In other words Frank and I will be responsible to get you safely with your bike from Seattle to Munchen. > Estimated time from Seattle to arrival in Munchen is 60 days. A rough estimate of the cost of the journey is US$ 15,000. - > The cost will include shipping of bike to Japan, 60 nights of hotels, most meals, guides, chase vehicles, maps, GPS waypoints etc. > We will limit the group to be about 15 motorcycles. First come first serve. > Approximate length of journey will be about 10,000 miles > Most of the roads we will travel are surfaced roads, but we still recommend a GS style motorcycle for the difficult parts. > Screening of participants will be necessary. Not so much for the ability to ride a bike, but very much for the ability to endure the magnitude of the journey. > Take a minute and look at a map and you will see that we will travel through some of the most important countries on this earth, Japan, China, Russia, Europe and USA. > What a great way to start the new Millennium, riding your own bike around the world. > This letter has been written just hours after Frank left Seattle and if you are interested to receive updates from Frank's journey please write him at flafrank@hotmail.com > > If you are interested in signing up or to be on a mailinglist to receive more information about the world tour please reply to this e-mail, helge@globeriders.com > I will in the near future ad on an addition to www.globeriders.com where maps and pictures will inform you about the world tour. > > Please feel free to forward this e-mail to friends and newsgroups. > > Have a great summer! > > Sincerely > > Helge Pedersen > > http://globeriders.com > > .>> If you're not pushing your limits, you're not discovering anything new <<<< > > > +------------------------------------+ | CycoActive Products tel (206) 323-2349 | 701 34th Ave fax (206) 325-6016 | Seattle, WA 98122 USA | webpage: http://www.cycoactive.com | e-mail: TomMyers@cycoactive.com +------------------------------------+ To subscribe/unsubscribe send message to majordomo@lists.xmission.com leave subject blank. Cool place, but a little hard to find. While I was there a very nice and knowledgeable women help my try on Darin jacket and pant. She offered me free sodas and went out of her way to help me. After about an hour of "getting the right fit" I pick up some souvenirs (T-shirt, temp gauge) and explain that I was not ready to buy today she that's OK the she will honor the 10% for 30 days. She gave me a couple stickers and a key ring temp gauge. After I left I realized that by not buying that day I would get around paying Minnesota sales tax (Kansas 6%+ -) if they have any. Some states don't. By order from home I should get the 10% discount and not have to pay sales tax. I did. Anyway, I finally saved the money, ordered the suit. It arrived 5 weeks later. Jacket fit perfect but they sent a 32 pant instead of a 42 pant. Didn't take me long to figure that one out! I called on Friday, they apologized for the screw-up and said they would get me size 42 ASAP, They manufacture everything to order and would rush to the front of the manufacturing line. The following Wednesday the UPS dropped off the pants. Darn that was quick. With the pants I got more stickers and a free T-shirt (just the right size). They also paid for the return shipping on the pants. Great customer service! Doug Kansas A1 To subscribe/unsubscribe send message to majordomo@lists.xmission.com leave subject blank. I called Progressive - they wanted over $4,000 for both my '95 KLR and my '94 CBR 600 F2 for 1 year. And, no, my driving record is not that bad. I called McGraw and got a quote of $919 for one year on both bikes for liability 15/30, property damage 5, uninsured property damage 3500 and uninsured bodily inj. 15/30. Considering that my car insurance wanted to charge me $4000/year to cover the same dollar amounts for a 91 Honda Civic, I thought the McGraw quote was the best I was gonna get. I'm not willing to drive without uninsured coverage (friend got t-boned by a uninsured driver, and she points out it's a bad bet to take, only thing that makes the permanent titanium left calf-bone worthwhile was her uninsured motorist coverage...), and there's a heck of a lot of uninsured drivers around considering the fact that's a required insurance state... I used to be with someone else for just the CBR - I'll look their name up when I'm home - not sure how they'll be on the KLR... McGraw had a lower price on the CBR than them, anyway... - -- Sarah Barwig Developer WeddingChannel.com (213) 599-4144 888 S.
