Also sounds demi-Harley-esque. (I consider it a safety feature). I found similar performance results just installing the pipe. After, I rejetted the carb with the big Dyno-Jet provided jet, removed the airbox snorkle, and Installed a Uni filter. At the Sportbike Ralley I dyno'd the bike - roll on power was 37 hp, but going through the gears the bike made (peaked up to) 38 hp. The tester told me that that indicated that it is running a bit rich. I would try it first without the largest jet. I take it you like the B-G. Where did you buy it and was it a good price? My Supertrapp lost the three 1/4-20 machine screws on the back-end and I almost lost the rearend of it on one trip. (If someone is installing their new supertrapp, buy some lock-tite 242 and secure those, and have a hack-saw on hand to cut the spacer, and replace the supplied SAE bolt with something that you can adjust with the metric tool kit...) I would definitely look at a different pipe if I was doing it again. Also, I mentioned a week ago, the head pipe right out of the motor had a bulbous weld that should be cleaned up. Next time I have it off I'll clean it up with a die grinder. I have my homeowners and car with them too, so an individual policy might be a bit different. I am also in LA, which again might have different rates than a rural area, for instance. 100,000/300,000 liability 100,000 property damage to others 30,000/60,000 uninsured motorist medical $500 deductible for bike damage $250 deductible for comprehensive This costs me $353 per 6 months. Of that $157 is for the bike damage and comprehensive. I am debating self-insuring for that...I think that KLRs are rarely stolen and if I get hit bad enough to damage the bike severely, I'm probably in a world of hurt myself. Besides, I don't know if I would trust a bike that had been in a major wreck and then repaired. I called Progressive - they wanted over $4,000 for both my '95 KLR and my '94 CBR 600 F2 for 1 year. And, no, my driving record is not that bad. I called McGraw and got a quote of $919 for one year on both bikes for liability 15/30, property damage 5, uninsured property damage 3500 and uninsured bodily inj. 15/30. Considering that my car insurance wanted to charge me $4000/year to cover the same dollar amounts for a 91 Honda Civic, I thought the McGraw quote was the best I was gonna get. I'm not willing to drive without uninsured coverage (friend got t-boned by a uninsured driver, and she points out it's a bad bet to take, only thing that makes the permanent titanium left calf-bone worthwhile was her uninsured motorist coverage...), and there's a heck of a lot of uninsured drivers around considering the fact that's a required insurance state... I used to be with someone else for just the CBR - I'll look their name up when I'm home - not sure how they'll be on the KLR... McGraw had a lower price on the CBR than them, anyway... - -- Sarah Barwig Developer WeddingChannel.com (213) 599-4144 888 S.
