I wanted stage 2. From what I have read a stage one and two >are one and the same. Am I right or did I just screw up my order? Don't be put off by all the different stage things...it is really simple...for $94.95...if you don't get the filter you better return the kit and buy if from Fred because you'll be getting a pretty fair rip-off. Once you get the kit there are three "stages" much less technical than it sounds. Stage 1 - 3 are differentiated by combinations of the following: whether you have modified your airbox or not; whether you are running an improved free flowing exhaust; which of the three main jets included in the kit are used; and, finally, which notch on the new needle you set the needle valve for. Givens are drilling and tapping to remove the pilot jet cover and backing it out; and enlarging the vacuum return hole for the slide. any opinions on which of the two Cobra slip-ons are (1) loudest and >(2) best performance increase. I ordered the one with the down-turned tip. there was a similar question asked on the list last year by a guy named CAD CAM Kenny. It was addressed in a classic fashion by Mr. Hink...you can consult the archives for Mr. Hink's answer (g). One note of caution, the list advice would be to return the Cobra immediately to MAW and stick with the stocker; buy a Trapp IDS, or spring the big bucks for the Big'un. >I've got a little over 2000 miles on this beast (mostly street) and I LOVE >the way it feels and handles, BUT I can't get it up (the bike) more than >about 2 inches.
