Bill Haycock has a First Gear Kilimanjaro in Atlanta, I've only heard good things from him. Gino Pokluda has a First Gear Kilimanjaro in New Mexico, I've only heard good things from him. I don't understand your comments about zippers and leaking, I've gone through torrential downpours in mine and stayed perfectly dry. Get a Kili. Regarding finding a Timbuktu, search the mailing list archives for Timbuktu. I found a guy who had some, he had a webpage up with several different jackets up. I mailed the link to the list. At $68.00, I figured it is a small risk with a potentially high return. I will be glad to update the list on the jacket when I receive it. I had to fax my credit card # to Israel to order it, their web server isn't secure. I hope it performs as promised, because I sure am hot in my Dainese Pegaso, and I don't like riding sans protection. Plus all the stuff I have looked at at various motorcycle stores looks hotter than the cool kevlar. (I have a Darien for cooler > and wetter weather) I wear my Darien jacket over a light cotton, short sleeved shirt and Darien pants (over shorts) all the time even in the hot heat the northeast has been having. By opening all the holes under the arms and across the back and zipping the top zipper down and the bottom zipper up until they meet in the middle of my chest, I'm OK as long as I'm moving. If you stop, you roast. Since I ride rural back roads, I rarely have to stop unless I want to. Bring and drink water. My left leg fries in the heat from the radiator. Fortunately, I've a set of highway pegs and I can get my foot/leg out and away from most of the heat. Sunday I was riding around and got caught in a major thunder/lightening/high wind/we're all gonna die downpour. Stopped and zipped up the jacket and kept riding. I was afraid to stop because the lightening was right THERE and I figured my chances were better if I kept moving. By hunkering down behind that 16" Rifle windshield only my feet and hands got wet and it REALLY poured for about three miles at 30mph until I drove out from under the storm. The Kawasaki tank bag is not especially waterproof but I think everybody knows that. My bike looks cleaner, though. :-} The Darien pants and jacket kept the rest of me dry. Like everything else, it's the old protection vs. comfort trade-off. BTW: I experienced none of the "bike running rough after a soaking" behavior some of you have experienced. Thanks.
