The first is the "Durty Dabbers" in Mill Hall, PA and is an AMA National DualSport. The second is the Seven Mountains DualSport near Potters Mills, PA on US Rte 322 south of State College. Elsewhere in PA: In JulyAugust there is the KORR DS ride near Johnstown, PA. There is a DS ride near Bradford, PA in late September. I also recall hearing about a ride in Jim Thorpe, PA. These rides are all at least 80 miles. The MillHall ride is a two day event with a Bar-B-Q extravaganza at the end of day one. I have ridden in both central PA rides the last two years. Outside of organized events, about 1/3 of the entire state is either state and national forest and most of it is open to dual sport bikes. I'm about 5 minutes from mountain (OK, I know these aren't real mountains) trails. There's lots of ATV access too. Sometimes we in the east have it better than you folks out west who have to contend with greenie-weenies trying to shut the entire wilderness off to motor vehicles. Can you give more details of the event? If anybody is interested I have 66 acres near Irvona, PA on the mountaintop (hilltop for you westerners) where we can camp before/after the event. It is about 50 miles NE of Johnstown, PA. Camping would be free and we can burn all the firewood that we want as long as we are willing to drag it in to camp. We could do this anytime if not tying in to KORR DS ride. If somebody would like to organize something like this let me know and I will make directions to the property available once a date is set. Otherwise if the consensus is for a different trip in PA I may still be interested.
