The track includes both English and German lyrics and is a very slow acoustic version with rather over reverbed piano. Interesting but all the same rather awful ! a sort of Smiths meet Kraftwerk type of sound. Mind you its better than the main track on the cd single.... its no. 29 in the UK charts at the moment. # Need help using (or leaving) this mailing list? # Send the command "info kraftwerk" to majordomo@lists.xmission.com. # To post, email kraftwerk@lists.xmission.com; replies go to original sender. # Other questions? Does anyone know what Florian really does on stage during the concerts? On the 1998 tour, he turned a couple of dials and wrote in his folder throughout the shows. It seems like a waste of precious manpower. Or is there something I have missed? Well, I'll take a shot at this one. Yah, what you've missed is the "concept". We could go around all day debating exactly WHAT it is Florian, (or Kraftwerk) are trying to get at. Any band that would send robots onto the stage to play their parts obviously has something to say about technology, while perhaps playing with our conception of what it is "pop musicians" "should" do while they're performing, Face it, all but the most "garage" oriented bands of today are basically putting on a show. The most ballistic metal band or hardcore band, or any kind of band really is PERFORMING. I may be totally cynical, but I don't really anybody in a large concert today is being honest. It is entertainment, and what you get is pre recorded music, or a keyboard player off to the side (like for the stones, or aerosmith) that fills in all the stuff the band just can't hack live. You don't want to have the audience shell out a ton of cash only to catch you on an off night. What to do? Make sure you NEVER have an off night. I think it is rather funny that Kraftwerk would have, or Florian would choose to be on stage and yet not obviously doing much of anything.
