I remember my first experience, when I was 4 years old and saw KRAFTWERK for the first time on TV. I'm still infected by and it's more than 20 years ago. When I visited the Haus der Geschichte in Bonn, it was funny to see the children watching this four mysterious figures behind glass. "Mummy, look, this men have such thin arms!" (meant the robots on the video :-) One boy stood very close to the speakers with his ears and listened carefully to "The Robots". BTW: not the promo video was shown but the video for the live show (version 98) Gunnar Andréas Hagström wrote: > > I have a friend who is a teacher and she let her pupils, 8-9 year old, > listen to Man-Machine and draw pictures about space. I am a newbie to the list although I have been reading your posts for a few weeks wondering what subject I could feel competent commenting on. So I introduce myself by way of remarking on Enrique's post. The idea of sharing rare\bootleg tracks without the exchange of money is a superb one. Though I have only had them for a few months, I have "hundreds" of megs of alternate versions/ home brew mixes of various quality and live recordings (most of which the location and date are available). I got these for free, less my on-line fee and time spent searching, and would love to share them with the same kind of people that would subscribe to this mail list. The problem is how ? I do not own a CD-burner either. I also do not wish to make one penny on this. Just getting more and different "musica robotica" to listen to is good enough. Thanks for reading this long post. It's a Swedish band and I don't think they don't sound anything like Kraftwerk (although Karl Bartos produced an album fro them IIRC). They have an official home page at http://hem.passagen.se/nik95maj/mobile/index.htm . There are also some MPEG-audio samples there. - -- E m a n u e l M a i r ________________________________________ e@mair.com mair@medstud.gu.se Procul, o procul este, profani! http://medstud.gu.se/~mair * t e a m A M I G A * .-. .- -.. .. --- -....- .- -.- - .. ...- .. - .-.- - ...-.- # Need help using (or leaving) this mailing list? # Send the command "info kraftwerk" to majordomo@lists.xmission.com. # To post, email kraftwerk@lists.xmission.com; replies go to original sender. # Other questions? My nick name's Xelius. I'm 34 , and a fan of KwK from 1978 . I saw them on a TV show ( probabily the Gondola d'oro in Venice ) on Italian 1st channel. I remind Kwk on stage playing ' The Robots ' single 45 version, in their red shirts , black ties and trousers (Flur had leather black ones ) and white shoes . The stage exhibited several parts of their instrumentation. >From the right to the left : Florian whit his "Zauberflote" on a stand , had something like a Sehnneiser vocoder ( in grey version ?) on his right . Flur was drumming on the E-drum set ,having 2 devices behind himself into a rack . On the top of the rack was a big grey chronometer. Karl was playing a keyboard ( it seems a Moog Prodigy ) , whit robotic gesture . Ralf kept his hands on a keyboard ( I cannot identify it ) and behind him there was a modular system that I'm not able to recognize . All the song was sung by Florian vocoded voice into a Sehnneiser mic vired into the vocoder ,except the russian phrases sung by Ralf into a mic whit a well exhibited elastic suspension. They made the only moves it occours to play , and their gaze fixed . In front of each one: the neon names . I try to do some research of the video document of that evening show , but I've not results at now. I saved a good photo of that show , cutted out from an italian TV magazine. I hope to will be able to make a JPG and post it by e-mail if someone interested.
