The fact is - there are probably a good number of females who listen to Electronic music, and might even own a KW of Aphex Twins album(s). But the fact is a good majority of the people who own/listen are male. Is there anything wrong with that? No. I think you shouldn't let stupid comments get to you people. This is a mailing list, we have a fun, open discussion about our infatuation with KW, and go in-depth about their lives, music, and so on. I think you need to take 2 approaches, while maintaining one when using the other. You have to take the discussion seriously, but also keep an open mind and joking attitude. So when posts that might "spark your fuse", you have to remember and keep a joking attitude, and just say a little comment that might challenge the other person's post. This is basically how a discussion is born :O. Fighting is no good around here, especially with older members, because chances are a feud won't last long around here. One of the other are probably going to go, and chances are it won't be the older member. So, just avoid controversey, or work out a damn solution pretty fast. I hope that made sense to some of you :-\ BTW, not as a contridiction, but a favour to my brain, whoever has 'kraftwerk' as their contact name, could you please change it? (only one kw mention allowed) In no particular order: "Black Celebration" .. Depeche Mode It was in 1986, and this LP *really* got me hooked on DM. One of the best records ever made. "Bites" .. Skinny Puppy I had the original Remission EP first, but Bites is what really did it for me.. Skinny Puppy is the most important contribution to music I know of, period. "The Occupied European Tour" .. Laibach This LP is just absolutely incredible. Anyone want to sell me a copy on CD? "Trans Europa Express" .. Kraftwerk By far the best Kraftwerk ever did, I think. Close second is a tie of Radioaktivitat and Die Mensch Maschine. (p.s. I think Computerwelt sucks) "Official Version" .. Front 242 Front did so many good things before this album too, but well.. When this album came out I got totally hooked, and have been ever since. "First & Last & Always" .. Sisters of Mercy I believe comments are superfluous. One of the Great Records OF All Time. "Tender Prey" .. Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds And this got me deeply into the works of Nick Cave, a true genious. "Plague" .. The Klinik Plague was the first LP I bought with Klinik, and suddenly I found myself on the doorstep of a whole new world... I completely adore Klinik. "Faith" .. The Cure This is by far the best album to come from the UK, ever. "Live at Joni's in Havana, Cuba" .. Paul Oakenfold And last but not definitely not least is not a record, but a live session with the master of trance and dance: Paul Oakenfold. This was the first stuff I heard in this genre, sometime in 1999. I've been massively into trance ever since! :D - -[grovsnus]- # Need help using (or leaving) this mailing list? # Send the command "info kraftwerk" to majordomo@lists.xmission.com. # To post, email kraftwerk@lists.xmission.com; replies go to original sender. # Other questions? It's great fun to read peoples views and general chat no matter how bizarre it gets sometimes. It's fortunate for me that the list is conducted in English as I don't speak any other language apart from a small bit of German, though not enough to hold a full conversation. Previously I was on another list dedicated to my other favourite group, Front 242. I left the list because of the constant flamewars. Most people on the this list seem to be pretty decent folk but I've seen the same thing starting here. I'm a pretty laid back person usually but I DON'T like it when people try to get personal. It's unecessary, it's not civilised and it's not funny. So yes, my sarcastic comment to Rick was meant to be serious. But it WAS in retaliation to his immature remark. Shaun > Yeah, you too Rick. > It's all over the internet what a mother's boy you are. > > Don't worry Klte, it probably means he doesn't know any woman. please excuse me , "sir" , but WHY_THE_FAQ don't u use some smileys , when u mean somethin' ironically ... or is this goin' to be taken really "serious" after all , dear shaun !? *sly_grin* ;-) # Need help using (or leaving) this mailing list? # Send the command "info kraftwerk" to majordomo@lists.xmission.com. # To post, email kraftwerk@lists.xmission.com; replies go to original sender. # Other questions?
